Glad to hear, though i am a bit further out then you, Winnipeg, Canada. Hopefully it works smoothlyWell, I am in Edmonton, Canada.
My geographical distance from Montreal is about 2,978km, used to have about 75ms.
My geographical distance from Sacramento is about 1,774km, and now I have about 94ms.
I did a brief test with my BLM just now in the game, and I can see no difference in how I performed.
Cheers,
D.
Mostly have to check if you are suffering from packet loss, though it seems EU was ok in that front even in Canada. My connection dropped by like 6-10 ping here in Texas (on a good day mind you) but most importantly i don't suffer packet loss anymore (would go to the 20%s frequently)Kinda weird for me, I play EU DC anyway but I was curious, I had 120~ on old, now 173. I looked at it and was like "That isn't even that bad", but that's probably because I play a lot of Chinese server MMOs including the Chinese edition of ff14 and I'm fairly used to 280~ MS.
from what I know, Ragnarok used to be located in JP in 1.0?
Ragnarok is home to a couple of small japanese FCs even still today...but theyre such a minority and always using the auto-translation that you wont even notice
them unless you specifically look for them. I know about 3-4 japanese players that I see frequently. French? Well, every EU server has french. But the majority of them is located on Moogle.
Ragnarok is perfectly fine and the vast majority there speaks very decent english.
So by all means, while you have my sympathy for issues like leaving friends behind, losing your house and/or gil....language barrier is not one of those problems.

I didn't, thus the sarcasm yet truth behind my statement.
The new datacenter has been up less than a day. The Op has no proper assessment or data as they haven't given any time to adjust at all and properly evaluate. Where there are thousands of testaments and feats just from UK players alone maxing dps on endgame content on 150 to 250ms pings. We have even had many of them World First the hardest content before any adjustments and tunings were made.
The OP can post pings, benchmark results, speed tests until they bleed. All they have proven is their lack of knowledge in the subjects of networking and how multiple servers operate. Also their selfishness to rudely label constructive criticism from many players with more experience in the subjects only degrades their statements further.
I haven't even checked my ping yet, but the servers are more more than triple the distance away from me. Moving the servers so far away was baffling.
They are most likely losing all subscriptions from South America. It got unplayable for us.
thats a tab target mmo, 100 ping is nowhere near unplayable, wtf
I doubt VPNs would help much - VPN servers help against routing issues, but don't do much when it comes to sheer distance.
South american players who are currently being routed over Amsterdam would benefit a lot from one >.>
I can doubleweave for the most part just fine by prepressing my first weave slightly and I've got 93ms average. Playing from kentucky.
What a ridiculous idiotic decision, it's like they didn't learn anything from when the servers were in japan and went too west again, way to kill your game again.
