Oh god, shitty routing brings back memories.
There was another game I played that got completely unplayable come European prime time because one of the comcast hops was garbage.
Simply enabling a VPN and getting a different route solved everything.
Those things happen daily in the game, as is, lol@ "just creating situations with no evidence"
Oh yeah all those times LB bars get used up but no effect because of the built in latency ? yep.
MY HOPE~! is the upgraded server allows things to process, but that hope is small based on what I experience so far.
XDXD<3 putting up 2 dots then sidewinder missing one I take it ? ;p

I see...
So it is kinda like Aussie then. Thanks for the insight both.
"8000 malms to Eorzea we've come, 'cross both a Continent and an Ocean (and we did it in one-fifth of a second)"
I'll stick with Tonberry, I get 130ms ping there, and 216ms to the new servers. Might make an alt tho.
No, I'm telling you that the distance increase is comparable, therefore the ping increase from distance increase is comparable.
But feel free to keep misunderstanding. You seem to be doing it on purpose.
Totally! I'm pretty directly connected to a backbone, so I get playable pings to all 3 datacenters, but I know people who are basically stuck with dial-up or fast satellite uploads but crap down out on the boonies.
I think some people just have no idea how much empty space there is in North America.

Yeah, same here. It's definitely Colorado. ARIN has that IP listed as a town in Colorado, not California.

I wish SE would say something so people dont freak out!
GeoIP data is unreliable, after all the GeoIP data for my IP puts me in New Zealand, when I'm in Australia. If you actually ran a traceroute to one of the server IPs, you'll see it's going straight to the NTT data center in Sacramento, CA.
Looks like I'm starting to go through Level3 where I wasn't before. The horrors!
My ping to the last available hop has doubled compared to the game before.![]()
