Pretty much this.If se decides to have 2 data centers, 1 on east coast, and another on west coast, how is it going to work though? Which worlds will be in data center 1 or 2? It will still be the same problem in the end though? Like say Gilgamesh on east coast, and Balmung on west coast, what is going to happen to the people who live on the east and west but on those worlds?
The higher your ping the less time to react vs boss attacks, harder to chain skills properly and less action in a certain amount of compared to someone with a lower ms.
But point and click MMO's are more "high" ping friendly and sometimes devs tweak their net code to compensate this (Overwatch and his shooter advantage for example). Anyway, you can check this videos for a general idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meDtc3QqQeI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwaz_aAih-A
Note: BnS is an extreme example, FF14 is not that bad but still is noticeable.

Not saying this is the case with the person you quoted but since we are being rude and jumping to conclusions here wth would you know about how how someone leveled or if the character you can see on their lodestone is even their main? It amazes me how many people think they can look at a persons lodestone and immediately know everything they have / haven't accomplished.
How about me then? I play pretty much everything, and I was on 100+ ping before. Its not unplayable. If you are going to call someone out on FFLogs, make sure your's are spectacular lol. I have monk in orange on several 24 mans, and I dont even main it, hell I still dont even know what the recommended opener is.

Also curious....can you please point me where my 'numbers' are shown? I've never uploaded a parse....I'm on PS4...I be googlin' with no results
The delay on Bio and buffs like hallowed is intended and has absolutly nothinh to do with connection delay.
Proof: If it was due to 'lag', every def. CD would be affected and Swiftcast+Bio2 or Combust would have a application delay like Bio. Both not the case.
Just look at the application of slashing debuff of Stoms Eye compared to Dancing Edge.
SE applies debuff more than 1s later into the GCD than DE does, a nin weaving a oGCD after DE in will get the debuff effect, a WAR doing a oGCD like stun directly after SE will not.
That's intended game design.

Which american coast is closest to North Korea? Maybe they can handle this issue.
Enter on FFLogs and look for your character's name, then select on "Alexander: The Creator (Savage)" to change the scope to the one fight you are curious about.
