Making a VPN necessary to play the game and enjoy yourself, whilst completely ridiculous, is all good and well for PC users. Because, hey! Why not have to pay an additional subscription to have access to the game you also subscribe to? But what about the PS4 users?

I remember 2.0 issues, and the game being, 'Literally unplayable' (read, disconnected every 2 minutes, literally couldn't play.) And things got better, eventually. So I'm hoping things get better now. Because, jeez, a month before a major expansion and this happens? Ouch.

Yeah, I really don't want to pay for a VPN subscription on top of my FFXIV subscription, but I really don't want to quit either. I need my MMO fix, and there aren't a lot of good options right now.

Routers can have VPN support (and thus work for PS4 players), but it's a lot of research and possibly more money spent just to be able to play comfortably.

A lot of people from south america will quit it literally got unplayable to us , and im pretty sure we are a large part of the comunity , its sad to see the few people who profit tho making such a ruckus to discredit everyone who is tryng to get something better instead of support now that they got what they wanted...

Sorry not to be rude but we can't support nonsense. Pretty sure they didn't moved the servers for 3 people.
I did have a high ping prior to the move, but what was more important was my extreme packet loss, not SE's fault but rather my internet provider. I didn't quit and I didn't sit on the forums and complained about it, I put my big girl panties on and made the best out of the situation. There are ways around it, use them and you'll be fine. I don't deny the fact that it sucks and that it makes people upset, and I personally would have like to see the servers in the middle somewhere, however the arguments put out here and not only in this thread, as well as the actions that people should be taken is getting way out of hand. No company will listen to something like that.

Form a petition, have them sign, word them proper and send them to the correct team, but threatening to quit and what not is defiantly not something that is going to implement any kind of change, because nobody can take it serious.

Sadly, people from Mexico, Central, and South America (Mexico is part of NA folks, google it) have never been an important piece of the community of this game. There aren't any Spanish subs of any kinds (not talking about Voice acting which could be easily left in English), contests and the like are only for legal residents of the USA and Canada, the new servers are located on the WC. It's been one of my complains since I began playing, but what can we do.

At least Yoshi P came to Mexico once or twice now, perhaps that means they have plans for us? But still I won't get my hopes up. We make a bigger part of this community than many give credit. It's only because we're not shouting we're Latin Americans everywhere that people think we're non-existent.

That will be the next request. Give everybody with a subscription their own server, placed on the kitchen counter and someone coming by every 30 minutes to check on it. And of course people that play since 1.0 should get fiber and a whole basement full of servers. It wouldn't surprise me anymore.
