I find it funny that People still cant See the Problem. We Where on US Servers Since 1.0. because surprise there Where no EU Servers. When they Released EU Servers At the Start of heavensward we already had our houses. When they implement a Feature Where You can take your house with You ok. But with this Housing System It Seems the only way for Them is to Fefund the House and on the New World all houses are taken. So Yeah.........

Actually, from start of 2.0 they had the EU servers just not an EU datacentre. SE said numerous times that you would get a better ping on these servers. This was all before houses were even implemented.

I don't care much about the problem, and in fact I have addressed it prior, but seeing all these complaints mostly from europeans about the NA data center move and arguing about free transfers that they are entitled too, leads to me pointing out the sheer irony that have been used, just to excuse why a free transfer is absolute necessary or why the NA data centers need to be moved closer to europe.

Your explanation didn't made it better, in fact it just made it worse lol. I was thinking with me pointing out how ridiculous these requests are, would let people understand how you guys would feel if we're taking this free transfer and then come and complain about our ping or even better demand the EU data centers being moved closer to NA.

Also another fun fact is, and there's no hate in that, I am glad you guys are getting your long desired free transfers, but all these arguments about houses, friends, fc's, ping and what not, will all the sudden vanish the moment the free transfers are opening up.

You're being very unreasonable here and making assumptions and generalizations. I for one will not be taking advantage of any free transfer. If the game is unplayable on my current server it will be goodbye for me.

Same goes for most likely me and any of my EU-based friends. I'm not inclined to swapping servers, especially when I've played on NA servers since somewhere in ARR, gotten my own house, have a lot of friends on NA servers, while I know absolutely noone on EU servers anymore. (The ones I knew at first also moved to NA for various reasons, in part some similar to mine)

Also, to be clear, at ARR's beta/release, the 'EU servers' were actually based in NA, meaning it made no difference what-so-fucking-ever until they moved the EU ones sometime later. And on top of that, as someone already pointed out, the 'EU server' designation is terrible as the EU isn't like NA, most countries have their own primary language. With just 'EU' tagging, for example, Moogle ended up being flooded with French players who had among themselves decided that was going to be their server, of whom a good portion subsequently went to quite some effort at the time to make the portion of the server that didn't speak (fluent/primarily/any) French feel unwelcome.

I ended up choosing to go NA side because I didn't feel like more of the above, as well as the lack of difference in any lag at the time(before they moved the EU servers), a good portion of friends from other MMO's and games, and the ability to find RP and the likes.

We've known NA was going to get its own Data Centre for quite a while now, it was an inevitability. EU players staying on NA, is like why NA players didn't move to EU when they got their own DC, because it would impact their play style. It's an unfortunate circumstance, to be sure, but once again, if your ping is <250, you're still able to play the game effectively at a high level, I'm proof of that, as are many others. If your ping is higher than >250, then you won't be top tier but still decent, and honestly, unless you're planning on doing Savage Raiding, then this data centre move shouldn't affect the majority as badly.

So far it is stable, I am happy
28 ms ping when no shit (including packet loss) happens.
As a latency check, I usually do a A12S SSS with my war (it is BiS, and I go alone with no STR bonus not pots). Killed 40 s before the end of the timer, so 1990 dps, I guess it is acceptable

This change did nothing but make it harder to ogcd rotations for people. All this lag still exists and I quote another friend:

if you live on east coast
it's significantly worse
like it's next to impossible for me to double weave for my SMN opener
(When someone can't double weave because of 100 ms it is unplayable from an fully optimization point of view.)

However, due to the physical distance between the old and new data centers, players accessing the NA servers will most likely experience a change in their current ping times. While those who play FINAL FANTASY XIV closer to the new data center will see their ping time fall, those who are now further away from the servers may see those times increase.

FINAL FANTASY XIV was designed to be played in an environment featuring ping times of 200 – 220 milliseconds or less. Even if players experience an increase in ping times due to the data center relocation, as long as their times remain below 200 ms, then they may rest easy, for there should be no discernable difference in gameplay.

This is simply false, you cannot fully optimize DPS rotations on 100 ping. Furthermore, I am still getting the heal someone with Lustrate but they die lag, and use an atherflow stack. The delay from being able to use ogcd from a ocd is too high on 100 ms.

I hope you have big changes for SB to allow DPS to get the most out of DPS rotations out of high ping because the current state is not possible and you lowered the amount of people able to do so.

In short the game is simply worse with the move for more people then it helped.

If 100 ms is unplayable, i guess i havent been able to play much at all since release. Oh wait, i did just fine.

If i can double weave with greased lightning 3 up on 100+ then anyone can double weave lol, and i dont even main monk.
