Whilst I see where you're coming from, it is you that is trying too hard to be insulting and edgy and in fairness, you are succeeding. Even if we take 1.0 out of the equation, when ARR came out EU servers were not actually physically located in Europe, so for a lot of us it didn't really matter where we played we were basically choosing between Canada (NA) or Japan. So I originally played on a US server for several years. Over time EU players have built friendships and FCs on those servers, there is no simple case of just "leaving" - we do not have guild transfer in this game you have to manually tear down everything you've built up and start it over (oh, you have an FC house? Good luck finding a free plot after you move). But in your seething rage you lack compassion so I guess making this point is wasted on you.

Now I'm not saying SE should accommodate that because at the end of the day, NA servers are for players where it's geographically optimal for them to play on NA. I'm just saying it goes a bit deeper than choice which by the way, we didn't have. And it isn't free for those players to leave either, which it should have especially been after the move.

I am not unsympathetic to your plight, just wanted to nitpick a bit: FC transfer is coming, and IIRC SE said anyone transferring to one of the new EU servers they're building will not only do so for free they'll fully refund your house.

I have played game for over 2 years with a ping of 330+ and now its 31 my ping. Never had to much trouble other than thinking your out of aoe attack and still get hit sometimes by it.

As I said in another thread, since they won't move servers again anytime soon (if ever) they should at least make it easier for players to double weave OGCD (and make it harder to triple weave so it doesn't become a new meta or whatever).

That is correct I am a day one alpha player, servers were located in japan.



Friends/house/gil is the main reason why i don't wanna switch. I got to know a hand full of ppl that i care for a lot. Enough to travel all the way to NY and GA last year

It is not the language "barrier" that i fear... It is simply... FF has always been english for me. For more than 13 years including FFXI. I played with japanese ppl in XI and i really hated to see my name, not knowing what they were talking about. So i started to learn japanese and i don't wanna go through languages again. I am german but i prefer the english language. In games, on TV, everywhere (I even spoke english after i woke up from surgery ).

i am german too, and I avoid 99% of other germans like the plague because I hate how some of them dont speak english...so whenever I would bring other people who dont speak german, they'd be left out.
And besides, frankly speaking, I have only ever had bad experience with the german player community, so i dont miss it at all. But again, as I said...there are plenty of servers where there'd be zero issues language-wise.
Most french ppl are on moogle, and most germans on shiva. But yeah, besides that, I absolutely understand why you wouldnt wanna leave your server behind.

The EU data center did not always exist. There are EU players on the NA data center because NA used to be the data center choice that they had. When the EU data center was created, players had an option to transfer away from the new data center but not to the new data center without charge. Basically the data center for Europe used to be part of NA, but SE opted to move that data center to create the EU one.

East Coast, my ping went up slightly to around 90, around the same ping I get from Blizz-West. Guess my route to Montreal was already terrible even though I am on EC so my gameplay hasn't changed much. Did a BLM dummy + slidecast test and one trial (Shiva), didn't seem vastly different.
