Mine's 88. I don't remember what it was before, but that ping is a heck of a lot lower.

EU player from Eastern Europe reporting, perfectly playable with 220pingI did Zurvan Ex as test (DPS) and everything was dodged as per normal. Healed through Dun Scaith, felt no difference. I could feel very small delay with spamming skills, I imagine DPS feels it most. I agree it is likely extremely frustrating for hard core raiders or those aiming for world's first where everything is optimized as best as possible. The rest however, I see no reason to panic and distress. If your friends matter more, stay on the NA center. If the mild delay in responses bothers you move if you have the option to.

That's good for you. I'm close to Eastern Europe, with a new ping of 200 and the delay is horrible. I get hit by something I dodged about 2 seconds ago, my abilities don't go off properly, I tested it in Dun Scaith and died to things I didn't even get a chance to react to...EU player from Eastern Europe reporting, perfectly playable with 220pingI did Zurvan Ex as test (DPS) and everything was dodged as per normal. Fellow European, I'm so sorryThat's good for you. I'm close to Eastern Europe, with a new ping of 200 and the delay is horrible. There have been moments of - I can sneak one more attack, and I got hit even if out of AoE zone but that was what happened to me with the old ping as well. I understand your frustrations but beyond learning the fights very well and moving in advance, there is little one can do in our case.

The ping was more noticeable to me as BRD than WHM.

my pings gotten to the point where i am getting hit from AOES i used to dodge, got to get the feel for this new ping, but its small, like possibly 0.2/0.3 seconds its noticible but i can adapt to it.
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun

But how are we supposed to know where that next aoe will be placed MuseTraveller? We are no fortunetellers, right?

That is true and I suppose it depends. I've managed to outrun regular AoEs like usual but for example the AoE the queen in Dun Scaith does right after jump? I already know she will do one so I move before she even jumps and if I'm near the jump area, I move asap before the AoE even appears. I fully agree faster flashing AoEs and savage content would be a problem but still doable. Definitely frustrating and agitating when you die to mechanics you know just cause you reacted a second too late, but if you are not doing any of this and raid more on the casual side - just doing ex primals, you should be fine with 220~ ping. I by no means want to minimlaize the situation. I too hoped it won't be California and I too was biting my nails anticipating to test the horror when I scored whooping 220ms on ping check. I just want to stress, one can adapt to this increase.
As an addendum to my post yesterday, I average 180 ping at the moment and I honestly can't tell the difference with how it was before, aside from *maybe* a slight delay on gathering.
And yes, I am an EU player.

I had a go on a few dungeons, Great Gubal and PoTD on 200ms
There is more delay on opening dialogues with retainers and initiating teleports.
AoEs are still dodgable but the timing is far tighter, the first gubal boss was a nightmare. I don't see myself leveling up a NIN anymore except for giggles.
Good thing my "main" is a WHM and now SCH coming up too.

Why would the servers be moved to California and not a central US location to benefit everyone? The fact that the new data center location is WORSE for me in my own region than playing in a different region is honestly pretty stupid and a decision clearly made without any real thought.
For reference on a data center relocation done right, look at Riot's League of Legends server move. It might have given the West Coast slightly higher ping, but it benefited EVERYONE in the US. XIV's relocation screws everyone in the North US and East Coast.
I'm going to sound selfish here, but I don't care about complaints from EU players. They CHOSE to play outside of their region even though they have their own data center. NA data center should be about what is convenient for NA players, not EU players. You have your own data center for a reason.
I am a NA player who chose to play within my region. I am now being screwed for doing so. Now, playing on the NA region data center my ping is worse in MY OWN REGION than elsewhere.
Why?
According to this post on Lodestone: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...2360440abe9651
With the release of Stormblood, there will be new worlds on the EU data center that will open up and transfer will be free. Does this apply to the entire North and East Coast of the US you just collectively screwed with the data center relocation? It's sad when I get a better connection to a different region than my own.
