We all should just transfer for free and then go and complain about the bad ping we're getting from the US to Europe. Lets see the responses we are getting from the europeans. How much you wanna bet, that it will be something like "You shouldn't be here in first place". Also how much you wanna bet, that these people that claim to have so many friends on the NA servers and can't transfer without losing all that, are the first ones filling out that free transfer ticket? Oh Irony....

Why are you so angry at EU players on NA servers feeling disappointed that they are being faced with giving up the game altogether, or giving up friendships they have had for years? It's not a "sense of entitlement", it's sadness at being given two unwelcome choices.

I've played FF games for nearly 14 years now, first on XI and subsequently on 14, with the same groups of friends I got to know all those years ago. Of course I'm going to be sad.

AUS player here, since closed Beta, did Coil on my PS3 220+ Ping, never once complained. The game is not unplayable at that ping, you just need to re-learn your timings and adapt. I'm personally so glad for this move because now my ping went from 220 > 170, which I guess by many US players is...unplayable? I digress, many of them could have 1 ping and still not be efficient at the game, go figure.

It's not the end of the world, playing with 180 ping. But... I do hope they can somewhat smooth it out for my fellow Europeans and myself.

And no, before people ask. I won't leave NA server. All my friends are there. All the roleplayers are there (the reason why I play this game). So going to Europe servers it not an option.

That is not related to the distance from the server, it's purely down to bad routing. I mean look we've had players from NYC reporting a 30ms ping today, there's no way whatsoever that any significant increase in ping time for anyone is due to the move itself, it's bad routing. A small increase in ping might be attributable to the move itself, maybe a 30-50ms increase (at most), but beyond that it's all down to bad routing. That will ultimately improve, and with pressure on your ISP you might be able to get them to refresh the routing on their end which may actually help you.

I went up from av. 110 to 170... I know it is still playable and so far i haven't notice a real difference... But it is not EU prime time, it could change in the evening hours when traffic starts to get heavy

From 160-180 to 220. I haven't checked how it is in game yet. I will in about six hours after work.
I was quite comfortable with the old ping and I hope the change won't be too noticeable.
