Servers seem to be up.

Servers seem to be up.
Aether (NA): 199.91.189.74Do either of you know the IP for the older server or something very close to it ?
I want to compare, I'm thinking I'll be pretty close to what I was at before based on where I live.
I also may have had a latency higher than what I'm used to but never paid attention in FF14.
Edit - looks like the move puts them 2.25 times further away :/
Primal (NA): 199.91.189.93
Good move to put the servers in California, only about 45 minutes from me now! Thanks SE!

I'm just hoping it doesn't go pear shaped. The Montreal servers were finicky at best and downright tantrum at worse whenever SE mentioned an incoming maintenance on the Lodestone no matter how close or far from the announcement up until they come back up from the maintenance, if we're lucky for them to behave for a little while afterward until/halfway to the next shutdown. Those days being a thing of the past would be nice
Fun fact, when I started playing, a year ago, EU server connection in the Character Selection was rated 'Poor' by the game itself, while Aether was rated 'good'. The same happened a week ago. This is why SE gave out FREE transfers to EU players way back so they can play on their datacenter. It's not SE's fault EU players decide to play on NA servers (for whatever reason) after making a datacenter just for EU. You're not entitled to a free transfer that boat has sailed.
Interestingly, the same results happened to me in another game, TERA, whose EU servers, apparently in Dublin, were at 220ms, while the NA version had 130-170. Which, for TERA, was still questionable, but at least better.

I can't believe the amount of EU players whining about their latency and threatening to quit.
When the EU data servers were moved/created, you chose to stay on the NA servers for whatever reasons you did. You knew you would still have to deal with latency, because people chose to stay with their friends/statics, etc.
This is not SE's fault that you chose this, nor is it there fault that you may see increased latency with this change in servers. Because this is a NORTH AMERICAN server (and in some part Oceanic, and south american). I made my choice playing from Japan on NA servers when I started. I don't sit here and whine if my latency is terrible, because I'm ignoring the better option.
SE doesn't owe you free playtime or transfers because you chose to ignore going over to your region. They made your servers local so you didn't have to connect to Montreal, and you made your choice. SE did not intentionally do this just to wrong you. Stop being entitled whiners.

And yet, they are getting another free transfer with extra bonus exp up to level 60, and gil and free time supposedly... It's on the lodestone right now. Quoted text below.I can't believe the amount of EU players whining about their latency and threatening to quit.

That's very nice. While I feel bad for those who may need to transfer I do recognize that now that SE has EU servers that they shouldn't base their /NA/ server designs on EU player perspective (as there is an entire server cluster for that already), it's nice that they're going at it on more time for those players though.

I actually think its great they are getting another set of worlds. They sound like they need it! Especially considering JP and NA already have 2-3 data centers each and EU only has 1... thats alot of folks for just one data center...That's very nice. Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread so I checked the old announcement. There was free move -away- from Chaos, but not for moving into it. So if people had done their characters to any other datacenter while they resided in the same place, they would have had to pay for the move anyway.
If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
