I wonder how many Kentucky players are here? Would be the best place to put the server.
Right after Chicago, of course.

Kentucky is where I am, in fact.
Chicago for sure, though. Would have been the best location overall, IMO. Hell even Michigan would have been acceptable and made sense for Canadian players.
California not only screws over east coast players, but most Canadians as well. Chicago would have been the best happy medium for all North American players.

My ping to Montreal was 25ms. My ping to Sacramento is 89ms... more than triple the amount. May have to quit the game if it is unplayable now.

I'm in Cali and regularly played NIN at 90-100+ daily without really noticing anything. While this situation isn't ideal (it really should have been centralized I think), I honestly believe people on the east coast should be a-ok. It's the people in Europe I feel super bad about.

We might be okay, but we're still tired of nearly every online game hosting servers for the whole NA continent out in California... :P It was nice to have ~20 ping for a while. Oh well. Regardless of where the servers end up, my ping will go up. I just hope the location benefits more people than it hurts.I'm in Cali and regularly played NIN at 90-100+ daily without really noticing anything. Oh yeah I totally understand that, just attempting to soothe the people on the east coast who are in panic mode at the moment. It's a really confusing move on SE's part but I'm 99% sure that so long as anyone who is worried actually on the NA continent, they'll be fine even if it'll take some adjustments. We might be okay, but we're still tired of nearly every online game hosting servers for the whole NA continent out in California... :P It was nice to have ~20 ping for a while. While double digit pings are a luxury, you feel the impact starting at 150 and above. A lot of will will get a ping increase, but it wouldn't pass a threshold where you'd even notice something. I feel confident that those in NA will be able to play as usual, possibly better due to the modern infrastructure of the new data center facility.
It is the EU players we have to feel for.

So basically, you are going to quit because your ping is doing the opposite of what mine did? The game is hardly unplayable at 89ms, or ever 114 as mine would frequently jump to. Only over 170 did it really start to get annoying.
