Why are so many folks who are chilling out in the 100-199 range freaking out?
I played on an NA server with a ping of around 210-240 for 3 years while I was in Japan. It didn't really affect me except in Titan.
If you are under 100ms like a good majority of the folks I see panicking you're more than fine.

If your ping is over 200, try WTFast or some other VPN software and see if it will route you a different way. I tried this a couple of times in Japan when we had some routing issues and it lowered the ping a lot.

I have been raiding with 250~ ping and had no problems dodging AOEs, even Titan. The only time I get killed by AOEs is when I get really greedy but same thing happens even for people who have perfect ping. I do use Pingzapper (was using WTFast but they stopped accepting my PayPal for some reason) for better routing, though.

Anyway, I'm down to 190~ ping now but I doubt there will be noticeable changes in-game for me.

I'm pretty sure the Titan issue wasnt caused by my ping at the time but rather my ISP. (it was a crappy military-provided ISP and it was down more often than it was up, but when it was up, I didnt have much issue playing with my high ping. So all the 'Waaaah! I have 100-200ms ping now' cry-babies should really just wait until the servers come back up and then see if it really affects them.

(and yeah, I used a VPN for better routing tables also)

We're used to playing with far less latency and it will take a long time to adjust- some moreso than others. I've played other games with servers out in California and my ISP does not often pick the best route to get my data from Point A to Point B. Heck my friend and I played LoL for a while with a ping that constantly hovered between 120~150 and it was awful (large part of why I quit despite playing since it was freshly out of beta). It just kind of sucks to not live on or near the West Coast if you play online games. I'm not gonna unsub or start failing in raids or anything like that, I'm just a little bummed.

For those complaining about ping speed and response time, the solution is simple. Request a business connection from your ISP. Business connections have much better routing tables because businesses demand speed and bandwidth. For residential connections the routing tables are more generic and usually take more hops to get to a backbone plus the routing tables aren't optimized for speed. Either that or use WTFast
