I hear you. I wouldn't want to support a company that uses money to expand its service, upgrade to new technology and allow for new features like expanded inventory, more housing (and bigger / more zones), etc. either. Were you someone who cheered when they announced the end of PS3 support for the growth of the game? I'm sure people quit because they didn't want to support that. The middle of the states would have been ideal, but a lot of factors had to be considered, no doubt. Modern facilities, rooms, deals, etc. After all, they're still on a development budget. Plus they seem to be doing things with transfers as well as implementing universal friends lists, fcs and party mechanics. The old center dropped a lot of players on the west on an hourly basis for the first year (and beyond). Gave them massive pings due to obsolete facilities and packet drops. Though they still persevered and didn't spout rhetoric about "that kind of behavior".

I'll just chalk it up to human nature and the need to adapt to new information. While not ideal (and what is?), there's nothing legitimately wrong with "this" behavior. Though I do understand that you're upset by something and can sympathize the need to adapt. If you enjoy the game, then just simply play it.

Cant you guys just pay a char transfer to different server? I remember someone from other thread said the new server location is for half of NA server, while the other half still located in the original location or at least something like that

Or you can try the jp server? Maybe you get better ping

If you really end up in jp server, just remember that we have different custom/tradition/approach when in party and socializing =D

True but, if you really love this game then its the only best option right now. Its pretty sad to leave the people and guild you're familiar with.

Let's not forget that moving to a different server can also mean severe losses in gil for some people.

My question is to people here after reading a majority of these posts....it sounds like you haven't even tried playing yet. Why don't you actually test it out in a trial or a raid and see what happens? My ping went up but my lag improved considerably. I see all of these complaints but no proof of there being any difficulty in game. If it's that bad, record a video of a raid or anything that is net heavy and make a feedback thread for the devs to see. If you want them to take action, don't just sit on here and whine, actually show your difficulty in game, or be quiet. Simple as that.

I have played from UK, UAE and now in Ireland and since 2014 always on NA server.. This morning was ok when I logged in after the new server move but this evening its impossible to do anything.. massive lag.. ping over 214ms.. I will have to move to Chaos on EU but means leaving all friends behind.. I am gutted.

saw this from NA thread about new server location and i see a lot of people going to quit just because their ping going above 150, some even quit because their ping reach 100

For someone who has been in this game for years with 200 ping, i feel no hindrance whatsoever, i can fight normally, even perform better than other sometimes, i can avoid red circle no problem, i didnt even feel lag at all, unless it went above 250ish.

190 ping is godsend for me, i guess thats what happen when 80% of online game is located in your country

There's a severe difference between always having bad ping, you went in knowing what you got into. But for a good chunk of players they just had their ping, doubled, tripled, and some even close to quadrupling at no fault of their own. No one wants to go from low to high ping, it's frustrating for the game to run relatively smooth, then suddenly have more latency.
