Unless you live off the main land of North America, you won't notice. The change in routing is almost guaranteed to have less packet loss in exchange for a minor ping increase, they will in 95% of cases, cancel each other out.

I live in the middle of Canada in the Province of Manitoba, i sure hope you are correct![]()
I do feel sorry for east coast players though, EU people can just transfer to Chaos but where do the cream of the crop of the east coast go? This really sucks for them since they have no option for a good ping
Jumping from 40ms to 80 ms, I think EC will be fine, if it's worse then that, your isp is more to blame then location.

I pinged 66 to the old aether ip just now. If it goes up by 50 like people say it will, it will be 116 ping. Thats less than what the game was designed for so im a bit relieved and i live in the Carolinas.
8% ping loss to that gateway, and higher ping time from Colorado!

Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become... habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny! What we think we become. -Margaret Thatcher (from "The Iron Lady")
Lol it's fine! Yes I was talking about the gil I have managed to save over the years in game. If they offer free transfer I'm hoping they allow us to take our Gil with us regardless of how much we've got. (Break the 1million Gil limit)Edit: I think I may have misassumed when you said "money earned" you were refering to RL money SE made. Reading through the rest of the thread you mention being concerned about you being unable to transfer 3 years worth of gil on your character. If that's the case, then consider the below as not applicable to your initial post and my apologies as well
I'm playing from scotland, and really worried about ping from a west coast server.
I don't know if they could transfer my butt back to EU server if 300 ping turns out the result of the aether center move, but it would be pretty cheeky to charge people for such a thing if the service provided is not optimal, I know i am not alone being an EU player on the NA center because of the community and communication.
I'm really enjoying the game but crazy ping won't do, player compensation is necessary to help us get back to a fair enough ping, that isn't asking a lot.
wow... just wow..
Cant they do something right...
Me as EU player and playing since release 2013 Im SO Pissed Like I never was before!
Im SO damn pissed I could 1Hit Chuck Norris by throwing a cotton ball at him! D:<<
To WEST coast..?! and not in the CENTRAL of USA wich would had been a SMART Solution for the EU AND USA players?!
Thanks for killing the game for EU's and probably US-East Coast players! D:<<<<
People like me has reasons why we choosed to play on NA instead of Homecountry servers! (I dislike our country there gamers!)
My Ping increases from 110 to 180-200!
I dont even have to TRY dodging AoE's anymore!
I wondering how many canceled there Stormblood Pre-order like I did! >_>

Yeah I'm pissed! I'm East coast and my connection is already pretty bad. This is gonna kill it for me![]()
