Can anyone tell me how to ping this new address from my place?
Or will it affect JP players?

Let's hypothetically say that you live on the east coast and the server is being moved to the west coast - how badly will this affect you?

Left side is the CA ping, right side is the current ping, I live in central maryland. So thats my reference. Basically I went from a 30-40ms to a 80-90 ms, but saw 0 packet loss versus the current which is floating around 30% packet loss, really, wont see a change at all.
One of our main tanks and main healers are located in Kelowna, BC. Data Center was located in Montreal before the relocation (West coast >>> East Coast) and as of this weekend a Tracert to Primal (199.91.189.93) resulted in a 125 ms ping.
From Arkansas to Primal DC was a 93 ms.
YoshiP has stated the game is "designed" around a ping of less than 250 ms.
People will always have or find reasons to complain, but our FC locations range from the western side of Canada to USAF bases in Germany and Japan. We've had no issues running all available content over the years on Diabolos.
I honestly doubt that you can bring your A-Game in terms of raiding if your ping sits around 200+. I'd say even 150+ will have an effect on your performance. So yeah, while you might be able to do most of the things this game has to offer on a higher ping, I do think raiders will be affected by it.

I'm a New Zealander and play with approximately 200 ping and manage fine, I'd even consider myself a little competitive. All it means is I have to anticipate stuff a little bit earlier, which is fine in this game where everything is scripted anyway.I honestly doubt that you can bring your A-Game in terms of raiding if your ping sits around 200+. Blade and soul =/= FFXIV, also completely different engines. Thats just a bad comparison.
This is also a game with no GCD for many skills and has no built in Latency compensation.

Wow so they really did go to CA?
People were joking around saying they hope it would not go there as connections would be bad? lol
