Respectfully, if VPN is improving your latency, that isn't SE's fault. The new servers are in a well-peered data center and your VPN service is doing a better job routing than your ISP is.

14 hops now.... coming from VA Beach side of the East Coast. Looking at this report as well as a couple friends who are on Level 3 data backbone when they tested. It seems the latency goes down once we get onto the servers backbone itself. Congestion? Something else? Who knows.

Someone tell me if I've got the, or a, correct IP for Balmung in 204.2.229.84?
If so, I am averaging 78ms, Comcast service, from Nashville Tennessee - which is pretty much what it's always been.

I went from 170ish to this... I don't know what I can do to improve it. I tried a VPN and it didn't seem to make much difference. I really love the game, but I'm feeling pretty frustrated at the moment. If anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate it.

From Atlanta my ping went from 53 to 80 with 0 packet loss. No biggie.

from Texas was about 70-100 and 20% ish packet loss when it was in Canada to 60-70 ping and 0% packet loss.

Well this WTFast seems interesting...
Doesnt make sense how a VPN could be faster then then directly connecting. If that is the case. Is it possible ISPs havent routed everything to the new change? Which case who is the point of contact? SE server IT dept or our ISP? Which case this info given to us by SE could be helpful too.
Southern Illinois (right on Kentucky border)
Was about 100-120ms depending before.
70-75ms now, despite being about the same distance away (?).
Existence is reasonable
Let's make things better
