I don't think CyrilLucifer honestly cares if roleplayers joined Mateus. But their point is directed at the suggestion of everyone having to pay for Balmung's extreme overpopulation. It's unfair to everyone else to have to monetarily pay for it.
The server is full... it's way overpopulated. You can complain about it all you like but they aren't going to open it anytime soon. What they should do however is designate a couple servers as RP servers for the future growth of that meta which would be a good thing for those communities.
Personally? Designating multiple servers is not going to go well. It'd be essentially the same thing as when Balmung was open except for the part where they wouldn't be able to Transfer to Balmung. Not enough small groups in one large populous community so that those who have different styles of RP etc will be able to easily go to another one with the server or that when disagreements in the small, once strong group occurs that the server's rp community starts to collapse and things become stagnant for awhile. The server is full... it's way overpopulated. I think one RP server designation would be enough, and maybe that would fill eventually, but we are talking about years down the road. Balmung plus one officially designated server would solve all problems for years to come. It is less about transferring, and more about directing future RPers to a new area with trust that others will also be there to RP with.
not sure if it was this or the other thread were people were wondering about the Japanese reactions to the lockdown, but...
So, I took a look at the Japanese forum and so far found 1 thread about this with 9 pages atm. The discussion in it is more about the lockdown happening without prior notice than the lockdown itself.
Also it seems that some people have the habit of 'temporarily' transferring their characters off to smaller servers during content lull/catch up patches and are now unable to return to their high pop servers for 4.0 progression (why the hell one would even consider wanting to waste money like that is beyond me....), as well as those who planned to transfer some friends starting the game over but are now unable to.
There are also some suggesting to at least allow those being brought in trough a recruit a friend code to be able to move to the currently locked servers
Greatly appreciated info! I'd asked this here and in the other thread.
Especially since so many people tried to isolate this as only a Balmung problem. Some did acknowledge that Gilgamesh's population is also an issue. I wanted to get the viewpoint of the 4 other servers that got locked.
Well the only people who seem to be really upset are the Balmung RP players, so anyone else has been kinda drowned out.Greatly appreciated info! I'd asked this here and in the other thread.

It is not the size of the other servers the problem, but the size of Balmung.
So no, a merge will not solve it.
Uhm. Do you truly think the average player who enjoys the quiet of Mateus really wants to see an influx of RPers? We're here for a reason.
Jenova's much more your culture, if I may make a recommendation....
