The last two dungeons of the ARR launch story have about half an hour of cutscenes in them each. Most groups will not wait for people to watch them.
    You can either :
    a) Watch the scenes and be locked out of fights. Possibly have some scenes not trigger at all due to the group triggering later ones before it can play.
b)Skip the scenes and watch them later in the inn.
    c) Make a premade party with Party Finder letting people know that you want to see the scenes and do the the fights. One or two 60 players can carry the instance unsynced.

SE learned from this experience and placed most cutscenes before and after dungeons instead of during from then on.

I've found that the solution to this problem already exists, even in the selfsame main scenario dungeons. Simply placing players into a barrier grid until all the players have finished watching the cutscenes would suffice the way they already force you to wait for players to finish loading the game's assets so no-one gets left behind.

I don't think Squeenix could have learned much from their ways when (mandatory) story content is still broken to the point of ruin.

The result would be that very few people would run the main scenarion roulette at all (due to most not wanting to wait while cutscenes are watched) which in turn would lead to queue times for those duties becoming very, very long.
    Not a good solution.

Now, this is a known problem which has been discussed many, many, MANY, times over the last several years. So far nobody has been able to come up with an actual workable solution that does not involve remaking the main scenarion dungeons from scratch - which seems very unlikely to happen after all this time.

Well it is a problem in itself that the main quest can only be completed by forcing other players to do it with you against their will to then compensate them with tomes for their gear treadmill. It's almost sadistic.

That is pretty much true for all the dungeons. Few people would run any of them more than once or twice except for the rewards.

Y'know, with SB coming, and all the new dungeons and whatever, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few new roulettes made to accommodate them somehow. I wonder if the game will reach a point where players just don't have time to hit all the roulettes and so choose to abandon this one that is probably among the more tedious.

I can only imagine as time goes on it will continue to get harder to entice old players in.
