Well, considering that all of NZ internet is sent to LA first, (Which has always meant that for me, NA always had slightly less ping then JP) I am pretty pleased with the new server location. I went from 260ping without pingzapper to 180 ping without pingzapper (With pingzapper, I get 20 less ping now).

I remember when my recommended servers were EU ones when the game started, and then when they moved the EU servers I now had 460 ping to 'em and the game was unplayable, and I had to move.

California has got the highest population in the U.S.A, and the servers are in a better position for those in the pacific, and Australia (population of NZ and Aus combined is around 28mil), while also not being too far away from the other highly populated US states, I'd say it's in a good spot.
