Not necessarily. If you run a tracert to the server IP you'll see that most of the routing is undeniably being done through NTT (SE's partnered company for the new Datacenter).
This is something that a local network/ISP cannot fix.

Well this was part of the problem for many people playing. Before it was routed through Level 3 which many suspect throttle our data. I for one had to use a vpn for years just to play. This was most likely the reason for the move to a company that SE partnered with. I know a lot of people who quit early on from Titan HM simple because of Level 3 lag.

It just feels like literally anywhere but pacific coast states would be better. Even Florida would be better (population is located mostly at the east coast) and probably has better routes. They had so many places to choose from..
But it didn't improve things for pretty much everyone. I asked one of my linkshells and my FC how they faired since the switch and only about 6 of them said they felt more responsive, there was about 30+ people online when I asked this and got a response from about 22 of them. The 16 that didn't favor it were mostly east coast and Midwest players, only 1 was from Washington and somehow pinged in the mid 100s though he suspected it was something on his end. SE overall goofed on this but really it should have been expected given their track record.physical location doesn't matter as much if the infrastructure isn't there to support it. Cali has that which is why they moved there. for people in NA this should only improve things on the whole for pretty much everyone people playing outside of NA don't really matter as much.

Oh wow, the fact that NTT has a datacenter in Texas makes the choice of Sacramento even more baffling.
Can confirm that this has most likely been in the works for several months, as the IP block was assigned at the end of last year:
Code:network:IP-Network-Block:204.2.229.0 - 204.2.229.255 network:Created:2016-12-28 05:21:51.205854+00 network:Updated:2016-12-28 05:21:51.205854+00
Because SE already owns property in California that they can use.People in the forums don't seem to understand that you still have to play with people affected by the bad ping. The situation could have improved for everyone involved. Instead of normalizing ping for the NA region they just inverted the players affected by the distance. Montreal was a terrible location and this is also a terrible location. I'd really like to know why they decided on this.
