Anyone know if this feature is still planned? Are people still interested in it?
I think it could be pretty cool.

It's been one of my biggest disappointments with the game. Didn't even seem like a complicated system to get basic features added, but we never saw it. Which is a shame, in the early days my small FC believed and tried to hold together it would come so we could keep our identity but still have access to more people to socialize/play with, which of course ultimately lead to the FC collapse.
If they do add it, great, but it'll be with a bit of a "Too little too late" feeling.
Part of me wonders what would an FC alliance bring to the game? Most games that have alliances have open world PvP, territory wars or something of that vein. Things that are not present in this game save for the Grand Companies. If it were simply social features for FCs, wouldn't they ultimately be overshadowed by the ability to Party Finder (now with enhanced cross datacenter and password locking) or linkshells?
The only use I could see it having would be a multi-FC chat that would grant access to all members in the alliance to chat at any time (sans normal limitations, like PvP). Even then, I'd wonder wouldn't an outside program like Discord be better for this (especially seeing as it has support on phones)? Not to mention that would allow for voice communication as well as typing and instant highlighting of important notifications. Assuming the FC alliance would even have a multichat feature like this to begin with.
It'd be easier to run stuff with the other FCs we already run quite a lot of stuff with, rather that spreading out over different LS and stuff.
Kind of like merging into a bigger FC but without losing the unique aspects of your own or the drama that usually accompanies such mergers.
I would think stuff like that takes a long time and would be best kept on records and not vanish because a few hundred people in a single alliance chat are speaking. Or requiring everyone online to see what is being said.
Just my two cents, not shooting the idea down, just wondering outloud why it's needed. A lack of need could be why it hadn't been in place already.
FC Alliances
FC based content
FC QoL fixes
FC member rank overhaul to prevent privilege escalation attacks on FC chests
etc....
There are a lot of FC things that we could do with.
My FC has been working together with another FC to clear Alexander Savage before Stormblood comes out. A feature like this would be a lifesaver in future content!
