My favorite FFXI moment (aside from meeting my husband) is when I introduced my friends to the concept of using a dancer in a merit party when a second bard wasn't available. Their minds were blown since they had no idea what dancer could do.

Ill give you the BEST Nostalgia that made me soooo gleeful. I actually installed this trailed to the demo ps4 at Gamestop to add to the video loop to get more people to look at it.

For some reason, of the most prevalent XI is running through Sauramogue Champaign on my DRK. Not doing anything, just running to Jeuno with Citadel by The Cruxshadows playing.
And, waaaaaay back before cookie cutters became a thing, dinging 30 RDM/THF in the jungle off of a goblin in black armor. Then spending hours in Bastok\\\\\\'s starting region killing 100 enemies to get DRK.
Literally dying to get BLU spells, only to accidentally get them after someone calls for help on a critter.
The epic Crawlers Nest trains of every single enemy in there to the entrance and seeing 100 people hanging out in Rolanberry waiting for them to go back. This was before they would despawn, they would have to walk back.
Guardians of Light, my linkshell for 10 years, and all of us making fun of Trivion by calling him a Dhalmel (Elvaan model with the Dhalmel neck.)
Ballista! (Fuck Brenner), and competing in the Ballista Royale tournament semi finals.

The worm is in my brain now ... telling me to take one last romp through vana'diel ...
I dunno if i can stop myself... x_________x

FFXI (I played 2004-2006)
I remember visiting Valkurm Dunes for the first time. It was a war-zone. I would always see dead players on the ground and others running away from high-level goblins or ghosts. Players would run out of the zone to escape, then the goblins would slowly walk back to their roaming areas and attack other parties along the way. Good times!
I also have fond memories of a place called Kuftal Tunnel, where a high-level dragon would spawn and start slaughtering any parties who were leveling up there.![]()

So many awesome posts, I just got off work and see a treasure trove of screenshots lol.
Who remembers the horrors of Crawlers Nest pulling? I thought doing valkurm dunes without a ranged for pulls was bad..NOPE the aggro in Crawlers nest was unreal. Still remember losing 3 levels in one day there because we kept pulling too much on accident rofl.
On a side note, It's beautiful to see many met their significant others in FFXI and it continued into FFXIV.

Oh geez, Crawler's Nest. Gotta love zoning in, then loading up dead on top of a corpse pile. Lol.
Sneak, deodorize, invisible, repeat.

...

It was a literal morgue zone. I'd argue I died more there than I did doing Prom zones in CoP.
Also, I wish SE implemented a skill chain system in FFXIV as well. Maybe more forgiving so as to reach the entire playerbase, but I miss seeing those animations lol.
