I probably wouldn't be strong enough to pick up a giant axe... especially in my new body...
I'm also not skillful enough to craft or gather anything...
I guess I could go see if Master Gegeruju is hiring...

I hate to be the one party pooper of the thread... but why, when all or most of the game core mechanics persist in series like Log Horizon and SAO, would the fundamental ability to switch jobs be disabled in FFXIV? Why are we limited to 1 DoW and one DoH? The ability to swap jobs at any time is one of the draws to this game.
I'd freak out at first if I got stuck in FFXIV world at first, but then remind myself I have cat ears and a tail, along with being free from real world responsibilities, so I'd sleep and laze around for for a few weeks and play with my new ears and tail because this is what I've wanted for so long. Cat ears and tail and being free from thinking of responsibility everyday.
I would test my abilities as a Dark Knight, search for my family and friends (see if im alone in Hydalen) and continue to be The Warrior of Light. Also i would make a home of Dun Scaith and populate it with my alts, family and friends (if they exist), and like minded individuals.
So much talk about not going on an adventure and staying safe. While playing, you wouldn't care about safety because your life isn't in danger. But if you get thrown into the game, suddenly you value yourself over everyone else. And also talk about racism against lalafells. Sure, you can joke about it. But it's not funny if you do that in Eorzea. I'm sure they would kill you faster than Bahamut did to 1.0 years ago.
Now, then. As for me...Set fire to everything and everyone. I would be the avatar of destruction as I travel the lands, destroying all that I see. The greater the threat, the greater the thrill. Bonus points against racists.
If I were so lucky, I'd be logging in as my short (for a Hellsguard), incredibly pretty female Roegadyn Monk. I'd travel to Ul'dah; take a room at the Quicksand, and take a long, luxurious, hot soapy bath; then I'd take another bath. Then I'd dress in my freshly-laundered, scrubbed gear (the Quicksand has Laundry service, of course) and call on Redolent Rose. Big Rose, completely taken with my sparkling wit and physical attractiveness, would fit me in practical, yet cutting-edge High Fashion. Well-dressed and turning heads all across the city, I'd return to the Quicksand, where I'd allow the attentions of tall, strong Midlander and Highlander men (sorry RoeMen, I don't fancy the "Square Block of Granite" body type), taking my time, and selecting one dashing, witty, and nimble-fingered patron, to return to my room, where we would have sex for days, pausing only for bouts of sleep and refreshment.
I'd repeat this set of activities until my gil ran low; then I'd get out and go for a walkabout; check in with the Scions; look for easy-yet-oddly-remunerative merc work, like killing moles for farmers who can't seem to do it themselves; and wing it from there.

I'd suddenly be a Roegadyn and would most likely start smelling like saltwater and fish.
Then I'd try to live with that.
I'd be one of those background characters.
Go into the trades and stuff.
No heroic stuff. I'd rather chill like that rich lala in Costa Del Sol all day, surrounded by scantily clad women.
Pretty sure someone can take care of that WoL business and all that.
And if they can't? Well, we all gotta go sometime /shrug
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
because i want to see what people would come up with if they can not switch jobs allowing them to be over powered as it does just by allowing us to switch jobs on a whim aside from having a crafter or gatherer secondary job without any of us being the warrior of lightI hate to be the one party pooper of the thread... but why, when all or most of the game core mechanics persist in series like Log Horizon and SAO, would the fundamental ability to switch jobs be disabled in FFXIV?
