Since my char is a summoner... I would immediately summon a legion of carbuncles. Learn how to make them look like cats and not carbuncles. Live with my aether cats.
Fly all around on my birds. Inspect my new tall, male body and long ears. Walk around as a very tall person for the first time in my life. Tell all the NPCs I hate like Thancred that I hate them.

Finally, drink and party with the Moogles until I die of Kupo nut poisoning.

I would probably stare at myself in a mirror for a really long time first thing. My main Job is SMN, so I would probably enjoy the company of a carbuncle, I've always wanted to know what a carbuncle feels like. I would actually probably try to get a job at the Arcanist's guild. Irl I'm an administrator, so pushing paperwork and enforcing the rules is kind of my schtick. I would probably take up Botany too since I really like plants. But I would certainly not be out adventuring. No thank you.

I'd be a healer/mecenary, making a living till someone fix this .hack predicament. Oh....and probably have Alphanadd assassinated.....just because. Then defile every document bout Hydalyn and write "Giant self rightous b**** on every page". Yeeep. thats just about it.

You didn't mention any PvP btw. That would make the world more exciting but normaly ffxiv players are somewhat pansies when it comes to it so everyone would basically be singing songs around campfires and everything is sprinkles and sunshine....It'd be hell....

Ever since watching Log Horizon and SaO I can't play a game (especially an MMO) without thinking "Who/what would I want to be if I got pulled into the game?". I designed this current character with that in mind so I'd stay the same old Duskwight Dragoon that I play now. The hard part would be choosing a single crafting/gathering class. It would probably have to go with Botanist and Carpenter since I make my home in the Shroud.

I'd probably spend the first few days/weeks with my FC trying to figure out what the hell is going on and how to actually make it/live in the world. Other than doing the odd dungeon and quests here and there to help my wife level I'd probably spend the majority of my time trying to build a community of adventurers in the Shroud to help support each other in this strange land. In my free time I'd hang out with the FC, relax at home, do some woodworking to make a little extra pocket money, and live up to the obligations of an officer in the Twin Adders.
