SE PLEASE - Feast of Famine - This reward SUCKS

So I figured I would work on my fishing log as well as this quest "Feast of Famine" that has been staring me in the face for months. I managed to catch Nepto Dragon, Endoceras, Kuno the Killer and Shonisaurus in probably a combined 2-3 hours of fishing. Then I get to Namitaro... WHAT THE HELL. Why is this fish so difficult to catch, not only him but the trigger fish you have to catch first. I have spent over 5 hours trying to catch this fish. Why isn't this the last fish in the quest because this has been 10 times more difficult to catch then the other 4... Secondly why is this reward so bad. This reward needs to be seriously improved... I'm talking like a minion or a special mount people can show off for taking hours upon hours to catch these fish. I don't mind investing time into a quest like this but the reward has to reflect the amount of time you are investing, which right now it does not. Please consider if possible adding a better reward for this quest please.

So titles don't count as showing off? Because before 3.0 seeing people with the titles from T8S and T9S were rare and extremely hard to obtain at the time. Same could be said for the Feast of Famine title. The difference is that the Savage titles will be easier to get with time while Feast of Famine will stay hard due to capped gathering % chance, assuming it doesn't get a nerf in difficulty.

Besides the Feast of Famine title, my 2nd hardest title that I worked for was most likely "Of the Golden Leaf" for the 1-50 GSM crafting achievement. Soloing PotD from 1-100 was also a challenging title in my opinion. Would a mount or minion be better? Maybe, but unlike a mount or minion, a Title is something that always shows, even in duties.

Also, Namitaro was the easiest Big Fish of the quest for me, only took one weather window. Endoceras took me the longest to fish up, with Shonisaurus being 2nd hardest.

So you're saying you caught the majority of the fish in only 7-8 hours of fishing?
It took way longer for me to catch them all. Especially Kuno the Killer, since fishers didn't have those neat increased HQ chance abilities, back in ARR.

Anyone who has done that quest before HW will tell you of a different big fish that they had the hardest time catching. Some had the Nepto Dragon that kept slipping away again, others Kuno the Killer and its multiple mooches, or Shonisauras and its weather pattern and big fish mooching, others still would keep on catching Magic Carpets when trying to get the Helicoprion, or Coelacanthus snagging the bait instead of Endoceras. And yes, I'm sure others also had difficulty catching Namitaro during the buff window.

And like the person above me stated, Of Dragons Deep definitely counts as a title worth showing off. Pre-GARO event, it was one of my most displayed titles, simply because of all the RNG fishing I had to go through to obtain it. (had to change it to one of the PvP titles during the event, else I'd just forget it with every frontline/feast I'd do, lol)

haha, i had the most trouble with namitaro too. i got the whole fish 1000 times in black shroud lvl 50 fishing spots achievment alone with my hunt after Namitaro. the counter was on 10 or so before i started hunting him ^^

i think the title is an awesome reward.

the whole 2.x fishing stuff is good. my problem lies in the 3.x fishing content and it's lack of ANY rewards. besides of the bucket minion mabye, but it's catchable with low level gear, not a real reward for someone who mains fishing :x and the glowing rod is really hard to get, okay, but since it's waaaay easier for botanist and miner to get their glowing tools, fisher feels again like being the unwanted step-child...

either give us something for the market, or something for showing off. and any reason to upgrade our gear and level desynthesis...

For me Namitaro was the real End-Game!

Such a pain!!.. but this quest was the most gratifying when completed!..(but yeah.. a mount would be nice ^^)

There are another 6 "legendary" fish in Heavensward but there's nothing to show for that like in ARR - THAT sucks. The title's fine, and cool-enough sounding.

The reward does not suck, consider the era of the quest (before HW).

I had a friend tell me, "fishing is the real endgame", and I replied with, "nah, it just really tests your patience (and endurance)". XD

Shonisaurus was the one for me. Ugh. I'd see other people come and go, success, but hey, what about me? Finally, finally, one day I got it and I was thrilled. It took me literally months of the right weather pattern, but after that I wore my Of Dragons Deep title with great pride (till I achieved Master Fisher).

I thought it was so difficult (and rewarding once done), that I have an added reward for anyone in my FC who accomplishes it. One million gil, just show me the title. I've paid this out to 7 members so far, and 1 person on the Novice Network, where I've made the same challenge, though a little tricky since some mentors already have the title.

Keep going, finish it, then wear that title with pride, like the rest of us who know what you went through to get it.
