I don't hate it but I literally do feel like I'm just a BLM who does less damage sometimes due to the mobility loss. Even utility wise, the only song I ever use usually is foe requiem. Sometimes ballad is necessary though. Warden's Paeon is practically useless for anything other than a warriors berserk since most DoTs are non-removeable, our recast for this skill should remove even those if you ask me or atleast half their duration/damage/effect.

I'd rather they turn Wanderer's Minuet into a single target party member +30% dmg buff for like 15-30 seconds with a 1-1:30 cooldown or something to give them some more utility. Choosing the right time and person to use it on would be part of player skill. Bard should be the job with the best/most utility IMHO. This gives the "support job" people something to actually play around with a little more.

Yes Still annoyed by it, but I've adapted. I still kick it off when I'm not in a party or group. Yes, the one thing currently killing my hype for SB is the possibility that the combat revamp could cause unintended consequences that the Dev team overlooked. I still pre-ordered SB, there's not much we can do but try to have faith in the team, but they are still human so mistakes can be made no matter how good they are.

Not irritated or surprised by it, the only question I asked myself was, why bard. There have been plenty of other jobs that could have gotten some of their actions/skills changed with less impact, compared to making a actual range kiting class, now stationary and blm's best friend in the back of the map.

Do I see more changes like that coming? Yea I do, and it wouldn't be the first time, Jobs get changed to a point were people don't want to play them anymore, or are looking to switch their main job. At least it's going to happen with expansions, and not in the middle of an expansion, would be a real shame if people need to re farm all their gear/tomes/relics/raid items etc if that would be the case.

I am still salty about the PLD changes with the HW expansion, and while I did have both tanks leveled and enjoyed playing them both, based on content, SE made the decision for me that I need to retire my pld, and that did suck for a while. But at least we won't get bored right?

BRD feels a bit like an ARPG hero to me atm. A bit like Demon Hunter from Diablo 3 if you have the increased damage if you're standing still .

I don't know what to think about changes in the future though. Can't know how they will feel if I haven't played them :/.

I love Wanderer's Minuet. I feel the OGCDs Bard has makes the class feel fast and exciting. It's quickly encroaching on my favorite DPS to play, which has always been Summoner/Black Mage. Being a caster primarily is probably why I prefer Wanderer's Minuet, though. I find Lv. 50 Bard quite boring.

Imo they should look to differentiate BRD's and MCH's skill as well as make it less annoying and like a caster for both occurrences. Examining WoW's Hunter's changes and ideas would be helpful as a living example of something similar-ish (of the issues and possible solutions).

Because of the turret I think MCH could be the more mobile of the two, since part of the damage is already coming out of a stationary object. I like the idea of Bard having a sniper like ability (stance or ability) because it reminds me of ranger, but I can understand that it comes out of no where for Bard's currently. For any stance I would suggest that moving fires the ability off at that point (bonus damage based on % complete casting), making it less annoying and less caster like immediately. Although it doesn't have to remain as is.

I think for the Bard, again because I do like the nod to Ranger and I also believe that too much mobility but the same amount of damage is a bit OP. So perhaps change it so the Bard generates a new string on their bow (or just a new bow all together, if a cooldown spell - string if a stance spell) that has a super high draw weight, increasing their damage, attack and song range while stationary but will not prevent attacks on the fly nor cancel the ability when moving from stationary.. just fire it at reduced bonus damage (its a magical bow.. so yeh w.e lol).

Meanwhile I think the MCH could perhaps get a few modifications based around their turrets. Like a repeater mode that while within range of your turret grants you greatly reduced ammo cooldown, decreased range, increased attack speed and skill speed (should make sure the turret is easy enough to keep on the field then though). A long range ability for the MCH could allow them to slap a giant gun ontop of their turret, raining attacks down from point, part of it could be that encouraged behavior to be around your turret (charges the ability by using aether near it). Of course the radius around the turret should be fairly decent, at least three times the size of the BLM circle.

So BRD has some mobility still but not as much as MCH, but also the option to fire pretty much anywhere on the battlefield (the greatest attack range of any job, song range not the same as attack range for balance/engagement reasons), meanwhile MCH is offered a DPS boost by hanging around their babies (reducing their range to pretty much in that area as well, farther than melee ofc - might fit in theme with the flamethrower range). Would suggest the bard's movement ability become conal (so it doesn't require a target, and they can rocket jump towards the boss if they're caught out far somewhere), and that the MCH has the ability to project a field or second turret on cooldown to easier manage their zones and work more smoothly in PvP.

But high mobility and same damage as other jobs is unbalanced so while I get the dislike of the current systems I do think something should exist. Alternately SE can kill MCH/BRD's mobility issues in PvP by giving every job a gap closer and movement disrupter and then they can be as mobile as they want, but I think that is a lot of unnecessary homogenization to match MCH/BRD lol.

I don't mind. It's fun. Actually it's more uncomfortable to me off at this point.

Also now that I think about it, couldn't you just watch the benchmark trailer fights and see if BRD is doing the casting pose or not.

I am not and have never been irritated about the removal of Bard's movement due to Wanderer's Minuet. In most cases at level 50, people didn't need to move much at all. If you did Coil and the like, there was plenty of times where there were positional requirements that made you stand still in a specific area anyway. I've also liked stacking skill speed because I've never been a fan of determination as a stat.

I'm not really worried about classes changing in Stormblood, in fact I'm excited, changes to my alt jobs, Black Mage and Paladin seem promising.

I like it more now with some decent SS and just having gotten used to it, still overall at the start it did irk me considerably. I do not like it when classes go through fundamental gameplay changes when I am main-ing them :P So now that I am used to it I am ok with it, but really hope they do not pull a 180 with it again.

While leveling Bard for the very first time, it bothered me. Then few hours of gameplay it feels wrong to me if I'm not casting. Not bothering me at all.
