4-Day Pass Friend Stuck in Another World, Can't do Callback Campaign

My friend recently returned on a 4 day pass debating whether or not to return for Stormblood. On his 4th day we did Palace of the Dead only for his pass to end abruptly. My friend's list shows him as being in Another World, in other words stuck in the Palace of the Dead instance. His character has been in this status for several days.

While he could simply resubscribe to resolve the issue, we really want to participate in the Callback Campaign but because his character is in Another World I have no option to Invite Friend to Return. Customer Support has been completely useless, having rejected my request because of privacy policy, misinterpreting his initial request, and finally telling him they cannot help him because the request "falls outside the scope of their services."

Please help.

It just displays that if you log out/disconnect while in an instance. If he logs back in he should be just fine and would be outside the instance.

Sounds like he can't just log back in due to not being subscribed?

Although, as I understood it, the "Invite Friend to Return" was for players that haven't played in a a certain period, so wouldn't that be nullified by having just been active?

The server relocation in a few days will log your friend out properly, I'm sure. However, if a player has signed into the game in the last 45 days the call-back doesn't work, as they have already been online recently.
I'd see if you can get them to sub for a month and help them get caught up for Stormsblood. Either befoer the 15th (and get 2 days extra sub because of the relocation 15-17th) or after the 17th.

He had a 4 day pass, and did not actually resub during that time. Not sure if that counts against the callback campaign requirements.

Players to be invited to return must have a service account that has been inactive for at least 90 days (including the free play period). Those who fail to meet this requirement will not receive an e-mail even if they have been invited to return.

So yea that 4 day pass will restrict your friend from participating in the callback campaign, since the moment he logged in, either with a 4/7 pass, subscription, free ps3/ps4 promo, free weekend promo etc, that account is flagged as active and therefore he couldn't return without subscription.
