    [Request] VR support at any cost, even without keyboard/mice/controllers/first person

    I would like to request VR support for XIV.

    EDIT: Title says any cost. I had intended this to mean at the expense of motion controller support and such. Not at the cost of other content. I most likely chose my words poorly.

    I know the dev team had experimented with VR before. I would like to ask for it in the official game. I would be so happy to have it, that i would settle for anything.
    For instance:

    -In a VR seat, with a 180 degree, 3d enabled screen view in front of me and my party menu and other hud elements floating nearby as if hovering closer to my head.

    -Vr view only, no controls, nothing different from normal play except you could see more of the environment and in 3d. I could play on a standard controller just fine in vr. The camera could stay in the same locations as it is now, i would just have a bigger field of view.

    -Vr outside of duties, in places like the Golden Saucer or fc/personal estates for rpers and people who just want to hang out with friends in vr.

    I know it was said that there were no plans for support, but i believe there is no better way to immerse myself in a game than to use vr. I don't even mind the 360 degree VR view disabling or swapping to standard 2d during cut scenes.

    If anyone agrees maybe show your support or offer suggestions if you want. I wont be reading aggressive responses, but feel free to disagree too.

    I cant imagine that it would be used by that many people (since it sounds as if it would be mainly good for taking walks and not actually playing any content - and is also a bit costy. I checked for VR-seats and around 1.000€ seems to be the price, right?) - I mean, maybe there will be a lot of people agreeing with you now, but as long as theres only a fraction of people who would use VR for only a fraction of the game, I'd consider investing in that development a waste of ressources.

    Personally I'm 95% sure I wont be able to use it, thanks to the motion sickness VR/3D normally triggers for me - so I'm not intrested in having it in this game.
    (Please note that I'm not speaking up against this idea based on me not being able to use it - this is simply my personal vote on the question "Would you use it?")

    I had thought about the cost on resources for adding VR support as well. I think they already had it running with that titan demo right? So really all they would have to do as toss it in. It shouldnt take too much r-right...? (I hope. lol.) xD

    I wouldn't say just a walk in VR..exactly.. but more i guess you could say casual activities and possibly combat? I would play in combat if they could allow for it. If i use controller or keyboard id be fine playing like normal, i don't look at my hands while i play anyways.

    side note-
    Also you said motion sickness is a problem for you..I cant say FF would have this, but a lot of vr games let you teleport instead of "walk." Surprisingly, this completely removes all motion sickness. It probably has little to do with my request, but it might change your ability to play VR.

    You know what might be a good compromise and possibly light on resource drain? Make the icam option VR friendly. Just a simple program added as an option to split and shift the image to create simple 3d. Would be fun for us VR owners. Maybe even extend the range from the icam user for the VR peeps?

    Try First person view

    They might do it later on, however if you want to try playing first person perspective it's really challenging. I started playing POTD being it's slower pace. Gives you an idea of how it would work....It will test your skills.

    I have an app called vorpx that lets me play a lot of non VR games in Vr. It works really well. Even emulates 3d support and stretches the screen to fill your view while rearranging the hud. Its quite amazing. Supposedly it used to work for XIV but they updated XIV. ;( It would be cool if they updated their product to work again. Id settle for unofficial, third party software if it meant Square didnt have to use resources. Oh and of course not getting banned. (haha..)

    Kinda hard to implant this as XIV didn't originally have VR in mind maybe later on as VR gets cheaper and a whole new online project.

    I'd love to have it for this or any game. Fully want it.
    Until the days where it's an expected standard though (may you live long enough to see it),
    The best we can do is get a powerful PC and hook up multiple monitors.

    Maybe something like this, it is better to have the game built around vr, not adding vr after. The way this game is played and how you need be dodgy in fights, VR just does not fit the current state.
