New AF gear in 4.0 names

We know AF in this game received during the level 50 Job Quests are named after the FFXI AF gear. The second recolor i90 is named after AF2 (relic armor) from FFXI, and the Esoteric AF set is named after the Empyrean armor (AF3) from FFXI (with slight differences to avoid confusion e.g., there was no Lancer class in XI, so AF3 for DRG was called Lancer's Mezail etc, while in XIV it's called Dragonlancer's Mezail to avoid confusion).

That said, we know that RDM's will likely be "Warlock's", and DRK's AF2 will be "Abyss" (it even has the purple elements that FFXI's DRK AF2 had). SAM might be Myochin but they are cloth based in XIV as opposed to armored in XI, so I doubt they'll be getting a Kabuto/Domaru, and likely instead get a Kimono or something as shown so far. Obviously XI didn't have Machinist or Astrologian, so those will likely have new names.

But there's already "Warlock" gear in the game. I'm pretty sure it's the caster (DoM) gear drops from the first level 50 dungeons.

Indeed there is, it's found in Wanderer's Palace HM and can also be found rarely through quick exploration Retainer Ventures.

And speaking of gear and FF Jobs, there is a level 38 piece of DoW legwear called 'Paladin's Trousers' that is not actually specifically PLD gear which is found in Cutter's Cry - I suspect they were originally 1.0 gear that was available before Jobs were actually added to the game and thus are a legacy of 1.0's often unique (as far as the FF series went) way of doing things.

Before I retired from FFXI, RDMs and all the other jobs had two sets of AF gear. The first set was quested levels 50-60 and was labeled the "Warlock's set". The second set, obtained at the previous level cap of 75 in endgame was labeled the "Duelists set". While the first set currently exists, I don't believe the second does, so perhaps RDM AF in FFXIV will be named after that.

Not specifically, but there are two gear sets in FFXIV already with the word 'duelist' as a suffix in their names though (the ilvl 185 'Defiant Duelist' and 'Daring Duelist' sets found in Saint Miocanne's Arborteum and Pharos Sirius HM), but that probably does not count. Either way, we'll find out soon enough I guess.
