Why are you playing as your race / gender combination?

Because I prefer to play my own gender, and back in 1.0 I decided to be a meatstick. Come 2.0, I made him less ugly (still plenty of scars) but otherwise stuck with the concept of martial mastery, which suits my playstyle as well in this game.

I really liked Poppy from League of Legends, so I decided my character would look like her a little bit
Had to swap the hair and skin color tho

Race: Because I find the Au Ra appealing appearance-wise. They look semi-human but with fantasy parts attached, horns, tail, etc.

Gender: Because I am a female. I enjoy playing as my own gender.

I joined shortly after Heavensward came out so I've been an Au Ra from the get-go. It was an easy decision, lizard dudes have such nice dorrito bods, muscular enough without being too muscular and I love how tall they can be. Miqos are cute but super short, Roes are cute but too big, Highlanders are kinda ugly and Elezen are skinny. Coming up with glamour outfits is super easy on lizards. Anything with a tapered waist looks great. I fanta'd him to a fem Au Ra once but it lasted all of 3 days. I'm just too used to being a big ol lizard now.

My two second mains/bedazzled alts are cats. Miqos are cute af and after wasting entirely too much money flip flopping between male and female, I made a second to curb my mogstation visits.

I love haughty aristocratic types of characters and when I played ffxi, the elvaan were a natural fit for me. When I came to this game I made my character look as close to my elvaan as possible.

Almost 40 and still as condescending as a teenage kid that has recently discovered Call of Duty.
I mean it's not like your physical age is representative of your mental age, but still... I thought I had seen it all on this forum, but you got me there.
Anyway, back to the thread.

Obviously mental age is the situation here. When did the bar get so low that not liking cartoons "in that way" is somehow "trying to be cool".

It was a toss up between Au Ra and Highlander. Ultimately I went with Au Ra, mostly because I like the horn set that was given for the face, and the tail option. While, I don't like that the female Au Ra's are extremely short compared to their male counterparts, I have learned to deal with it. I tend to go with the less realistic characters in games, because why not? I couldn't pull myself to be a cat person though. I don't particularly like their tails/ear options, but I can be picky. (I did make a side character a Highlander , however I've yet to touch her....)

I picked a tank class as a main class because I normally do DPS/BLM type characters and decided to try something different. I've done a tank in a few games, but not many. I do actually feel quite attached to being a paladin, though she's so tiny I donno how she doesn't break like a twig.


As for gender, I picked female because I like the female outfits better than the male outfits. While it might be due to the fact I am a female IRL, but who doesn't like an adorable outfit?! I'm very vain when it comes to my characters, though I have considered switching to a dude solely on Aymeric's armor.... but so far I've resisted.

3) why do you feel the need to make unnecessary jokes about my characters looks?

1) You don't need to watch something to know what it is, also you knew it was a kid show.

2) That chin is hilarious, I can picture your char using it to open tuna cans! Just like Cid could park is airship in my character forehead with this hairstyle.

3) Because I find it funny and it's your char, not you. I don't know you and I know better than to make fun of real person appearance.

-Not overly fat arms or muscle mass like male roe and best body frame.
-Makes badass glamour even more badass.

EDIT: Also, can someone explain to me what's up with the "don't want to stare at butt" thing? Does people's eyes just naturally lock-on to their chr's ass? Whether I play a male or female chr in a game, my eyes are all over, if not mostly on my chr's back.
