Why are you playing as your race / gender combination?

Originally chose Roe because of the lore and overall theme. Went to au ra when making an alt because I didn't want a clone and Hw had come out. I enjoy their aesthetics but ended up with a lala to go with my Fiancé and now really just like everything about them. However mostly I enjoy all the races and Genders if I can find the right combination.

Female:

• Reason 1 - if I have to stare at an avatar for the hours MMOs typically require, I'd rather stare at a female.
• Reason 2 - FF14 is very anime, and female warrior/fighter/brawler is a very common anime theme.

Roegadyn: tanks should be big. I look funny leveling my Conjurer though...doesn't fit her at all.

Sea Wolf: wanted to be a warrior and their guild city is Limsa Lominsa, plus I dig the green/blue skin.

I play a male Duskwight because after seeing TRON (ahem, age), SaO, and Log Horizon I can't make a game character without considering if I'd want to be him/her/it if I were sucked into the game world. I'm tall and slender male so I picked a tall and slender male to avoid most of the "awkwardness" of being short and/or a female. Plus, I think the Elezen make the best Dragoons which has been my FF love-class since forever.

TL;DR- I would want to be a male Duskwight Dragoon should I ever get TRONned into the game.

I'm an Elezen cause they're the most elegant and I want to be a classy broad. Seriously though, Lady of War is one of my favorite tropes and I think the Elezen convey that.

Why a ladygirl? Back in the day I made girl characters because it was different and there weren't a lot. Nowadays I stick with it out of habit and the aesthetics are better.

I played as a Tarutaru in Final Fantasy XI. I rolled a Lalafell out of pure nostalgia, but later I found my calling as a Lalafell civil rights activist. Thank you SquareEnix.

It's all due to my 1.0 character. It was a male hyur, generic and not fitting with the BRD and WHM AF, so I look for a female character with a unique appareance. (plus some background stuff that influenced my choice)

I choose this race because it represents me more, and I'm a guy. Male Miqote was my first choice, but the shoulders were fugly in robes and coats, so female miqote was better suited. They don't have muscle sliders sadly so I just gave her boobs as its represented as strength or confidence to me. Take it as you will, this tom-boyish Fem Miqote represents bad-assery on a tough-motherf----er level.

Also the tail makes up for no ass....sort of...

Its bs... it really is to say "i wanna see the hotz girl butt" and really calls your character into question a lot more then just saying... "i wanted to try the opposite out, see what its like." There is no shame in that. Claiming you wanna pant to a miqo'te ass is far more embarrassing then the truth.

You know we won't think less of you if you just wanted to see german man butt right?

Been this way since 1.0... I think the face tattoos came in 2.0 but haven't really changed otherwise. Wanted something big, but felt Roe wasn't really in the dimension I wanted from the options given (was looking for more Spacemarine lol). If they had a bestial race I probably would have picked that, like a Charr from GW2.

Hard to switch now because my character has been this way for so long, consider going Lala sometimes just because they're cute but I like the way my armor looks.... and hard to switch now XD.

Male Roeg here. I've tried playing female characters, but given the clothing and animations typical of mmos, it felt a bit too lecherous. So I end up male, at which point I tend to try to build myself. I'm a hobbyist powerlifter, with a body to match (no bishonen going on here), so Roeg size feels familiar and relate-able.
