Because Midlander M A S T E R R A C E.

Female Miqote or Female Au Ra
Why female?: I always play my own gender in games usually. I do have a male alt, but my main character is always the same gender as I am and I design my main character's looks based on myself most of the time. Dark hair is usually the main trait of my main character...I use black or sometimes brown for a change of pace.
Female Miqote: Well...I'm that crazy cat lady! Well no I guess I am not... I only own two cats, but I adore my kitties so I enjoy playing Miqote. Miqote suits parts of my personality pretty well they seem giggly, happy, and friendly, but a bit scary when mad.
Female Au Ra: I enjoy their passive elegance. They relate to my less emotional side, like more calm, passive, and gentle.

I played one before.

Why am I playing as a male?
- I am in my 30's and want my representation in game to reflect that. I enjoy my interactions with not only other players but also with the NPC to show a perfect variant of myself in the setting.
Why a Highlander?
-There are at this time little to no examples or references to Latin/ Hispanic culture. However my hair is graying prematurely so i have white streaks in it, i have dark skin as does my character. More so than that however i enjoy seeing the plight of the Al Mhigan people being so well highlighted. The desperation some feel making them do things considered wrong, to me feels both real and tragic. Not all are so quick to do such things, many being respectable individuals trying the best they can in Little Ala Mhigo. However the dichotomy between the resistance and those just trying to get by is there, and is sensibly represented.
My character (as well as my irl brothers) play up the idea we are actually Ala Mhigan. Having left just before it's fall with our family when we were young and moving around until settling down in Vylbrand until coming of age to begin adventuring.
Main Job.
- Dark Knight
While young when having left Ala Mhigo, there was enough time to have understood the significance of madness of the King of Ruin, the occupation of All Mhigo, and what was being done to citizens who were left behind or tried to fight the empire. As such an overwhelming desire to learn both martial and magical combat began to take root so as to never be so outmatched by magics, magi tech, or martial powers. As such study of all schools of destructive magics became paramount from voidal magic, to summoning to finally after much travel and research, whispers of heavy armored warriors with great skill in both blade and spell were to be found in the north.

I have attempted to write this several times. I am a male around 6 foot tall.
I like to play lalafells. It's great to be one of the cute people in this world. Playing a lalafell just makes me happy. As someone who has struggled their whole life against depression, that means a lot. I can /cheer, /laugh, and /happy and it brightens everyone's day.
More than that, being the little guy feels more heroic. It feels like I'm getting by through cleverness and determination, rather than strength. Also, being the little guy means I'm seen as the sidekick and friend. That is great to roleplay and it makes those moments when I pull off something incredible more amazing to the other people in the party.
I also feel it's an expression of who I am. Just a regular guy, who has a strong inner child, out to make the world a better place by helping those people he feels are heroes. It never really sinks in that I'm a hero too.

Moon Miqo'te. I used to play SunCat but I always loved the lore of the Moons better and the teeth. I played around and finally made one I like because I got over the eyes and now I really love her more as a MoonCat.
Here she is!
I play as a female because I'm a girl. I'm really pale IRL so I usually make my chars darker skinned because I wish I had some color LOL
I wanted to add after reading this thread about being like "hit on" with girls characters. I have NEVER had it happen in any MMO except this one and it was only 2 times so far and since I ignored the (SUPER CREEPY) comments, they didn't message me anymore, but thall's balls when you do get whispers from those types of people...

I picked Au Ra because I'm a fan of draconic/reptilian-looking races, and they aren't terribly common in MMORPGs.
Female because I prefer having a smaller character over one that's large and imposing, and I've played plenty enough RPGs with male protagonists, so being a heroine would be a nice change of pace.
Xaela because I wanted my scales to contrast with my skin tone, and I preferred dark on light to light on dark.

I'm playing as a cat man because there's no smol kitusne option :T

Male: I've played male characters in MMOs for quite a while now. Playing female characters feels weird to me.
Elezen: When I played WOW, my main was a blood elf, so Elezen was the obvious choice when I started FF14. I really like how he turned out and refuse to fantasia him.

I chose the Au ra because of the art style. They remind me of manga men. As for for the lore, the whole eastern theme really appeals to me. I'm excited for The Doman, and Kugane cultures.
