The first thing I look for when I feel am bored of the "popular" content such as Ifrit, is go take a look at my own list and see what I have not done. From there I decide hmm, which sounds more enticing today. I ask if I'd rather go alone, or bring along a couple people form my our LS. Perhaps I will ask if they need anything done, and go help them instead because adventuring with others is a lot more fun than running around alone to me. Maybe I don't even want to do something on my list and go take out a high Level Molboro in the Black Shroud. Some of these offer physical reward, some to not. Sometimes it is about personal challenge and personal gratification and not about the gil/exp/equipment/material reward. Think outside the box for a change, there is a an entire world out there.

SE has provided the world to us to explore, expecting them to hold my hand and guide my day to day actions seems pretty silly in my opinion. Forgive me then for not articulating in novella form when I post these types of responses. I actually take into consideration that the OP might have done the obvious things they enjoy, but are looking for more enjoyment. The point I am making goes well beyond the simple "see! you haven't done everything! so there." If I wrote a more than a paragraph, would most people even take the time to read it? If I simply said "think outside the box," would that please you more as a response? Or did you peg me as a troll for attempting to provide something tangible for the OP in the form of a checklist instead of a well written response?

Can we move on now and continue helping the OP find meaningful things to do instead of attacking specific responses, and each other for that matter?
You're correct in that many will not take the time to read longer posts. Intention aside, and I concede that yours was not born of malice and so is not trolling (my apologies) your post still proposes the OP do things they may not consider to be content, but that you evidently do, which is fine. That's why I say it's interesting in that these types of posts are often phrased as "there is nothing to do" and not "There is nothing for me to do that I want to do". Also your initial "Start with completing these!" was all I had to go on in your shortened post which, in my opinion, implied less of a polite suggestion that perhaps the OP should consider your very broad view of "content" and more throwing things in the OPs face.

Re: your first line I have travelled a reasonable amount nationally and internationally for work/pleasure and no the act of travelling to places isn't really relevant to me. It's curious sure but I don't often make it an end in itself. If I go somewhere and see something new great, if I don't also great. I don't know if your comment was meant as an insult or something, one can never be entirely sure in text form... Wherever you go, there you are.

Also, and this point is greatly abbreviated because I'm lazy, this isn't Minecraft or Terraria. If I wanted to invent my own content and "think outside the box" I'd go do that, which I already do. I expect more from this game than "use your imagination and invent your own content".

At this point I'm willing to admit that our opinions simply differ, not that I'm right or wrong regarding it. The only assumption I can make based on the OP is that his opinions lie in parallel to your own. With so many QQ threads it can be hard to discern those of us with thought, and those of us who deserve the label of troll. Its obvious that you and I bring different light to the table regarding this topic, due to what we each consider relevant. I thought my example applied, as you did yours. My comment meant no harm, I was only trying to point out that perhaps we both jumped to conclusions on the topic at hand, and various responses. Mine and your alike. That and to help illustrate that we have different values on the subject.

To me, Final Fantasy has always been a bit of a linear "Minecraft," for lack of a better word. I can venture off the path and explore until I am satisfied, then continue on the journey with a purpose. Yes it is true FFXIV lacks a bit of the end-purpose, but it certainly does not lack the ability to divert from the path. The overall road we choose to reach the end varies by each player, and I think that is great.

I have enjoyed this little sparring match, and look forward to when next we cross paths, adventurer :P

Well said. Yes it is rather hard to discern things around here. I wish you well and look forward to our next match. Although we don't differ on to much, generally speaking, from what I've lurked of your posts over time.

P.S. on the subject of content, these forums make for great content. Best content yet in fact.

Extremely good answer and I think the same. Glad I found someone who expressed it better than I.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
    (Marvelous economics IQ test!)
