Eh, I'd agree with you on the part that people called the Lodestone History "content." But the achievements have rewards. That's content to me.The Moogle fight is the "thing to do" in 1.2
Achievements are not something to do. Achievement systems double dip on content to give the illusion of new content but fine, if you have to be logged in, you can "do" that too, should eat mountains of time (how convenient).
Add on some other high level quests that's clearly something new you can do, fair enough.
Someone also mentioned seasonal content. Put that under the Achievements as something you can "do" if you couldn't log out for some reason.
