[Dev question] Do you know about the player devision in palace of the dead?

My approach to this is to help people who are in combat once the gate opens (if I am the only one wanting silver chests I'll just suck it up and move on). If i see people sitting on the gate I simply inform them the run will be faster if they help. If they continue to sit on the gate while other people are looking for silver chests or whatever, I simply ignore them. Their hunger for a speedrun is actually slowing them down, so I get a chuckle out of it. Speedrunners are the ones who should be forming premades, since if they want a fast run it makes more sense to queue with 3 other like-minded people.

It is nice seeing some posters make sense, and I agree. I will never understand for the life of me why that pair of speedrunners chose to MPK me and my friend over trying to find silver chests. So they wasted 15 minutes of their time (they where the cause of the run going slow, ironically) by forcing a fail.

Speed running is pretty much the community norm now for POTD. Most people are just there to level since the weapons are only 255, plus the expansion is out soon. If you are going to go against the majority then form your own group. At the very least you can try asking your group if they are ok with getting chests when you first zone in.

Not in my experience. There is almost always at least 1 or 2 looking to clear all the chests and such (aside from myself). My logic on it is: a speedrunner trying to force his way defeats his own purpose. There's a couple ways to address this: normalize silver chest chances to increase your aetherpool gear, or simply split the queues.

I know there was threads on this but i am getting a little worried of lack of response that it is an issue and that it exists. Today my 2 friends enter palace of the dead. The one has all 60 and pretty much does not care anymore what happens, she is only there to help the other friend.

Sometimes I get this too where the person just runs straight to the gate even if someone is dead/needs help. And I'm like "UM".

There are no rules for the palace that are stating that you need all chests to succeed there. In the end you only need to kill a certain amount of monster to open the gate. Everything else is optional. (If they would be necessary they would be needed to open the gate) So I am not really sure why its only the speedrunners that need to form a group?

I run palace solo most of the time but if I am in a random group I will just see how the majority wants the run. Its the same with dungeon runs. If someone wants to take it slow and not big pull something then I might be a little annoyed in my mind if everyone is geared enough to big pull it but I will just accept the majority rule and go through it slowly.

Well with OPs story they were two friends and two randoms so its not that easy with majority. But at the same time if the others are sitting at the gate and you are two people: Well just team up and get those chests yourself. If they dont feel like waiting for you, you either kick them or be kicked, or try to find a compromise. If you are careful enough you would not need the help of the rest of your team anyway. IMO the situation in the OP only happened because both sides did not try to compromise and only try to get through with their way. Not a good combination for a party.

Why use your alt character to post? ö_ö Also didnt you say that your are from another server thus couldnt help them either way? Or are those other friends from your server? So it already happened twice in a short time that you were kicked from the palace? I know that bad stuff happens and that toxic players are existing but if you are kicked so often..maybe both sides are doing it wrong?
