[Dev question] Do you know about the player devision in palace of the dead?

I know there was threads on this but i am getting a little worried of lack of response that it is an issue and that it exists. Today my 2 friends enter palace of the dead. The one has all 60 and pretty much does not care anymore what happens, she is only there to help the other friend.

However they where both low in aertherpool, one having something below 30. It started like this, the helper friend got caught in something, really not important but the 2 in low gear where fighting something and she did her call macro. The reply to it was "ok" as they sat on the gate thing (what is that even called anyway?) then one used some macro saying it was up with a call (nothing else was said) She used her call macro on 2 different things and they still sat on the gate "why" one asked. The one doing the helping said "help" as she was trying to heal and dps since a low aether gear pld is not going to do much...


"i do not like sitting at a place while we are having problems" my friend said (again one doing the helping for the other) and the response to that was "?"

Next floor, friend used call macro for help again, while the outsiders sat on gate:

"stop running to gate and sitting there doing nothing plz ..."

the response was "?"then finally one of the speedrunners got kicked for spamming "leeches" after rudely asking for "dispell" when my friend had no clue what "dispell" was because it is not a name of any ability she has.

The one speedrunner that was left, off the gate (to delay I guess) to insult them, before leaving.

I am personally sick of speedrunning toxicity in palace of the dead. I had speed runners MPK people over not speed running. Please change the game to discourage this behavior.

I encountered this last night after taking a break from Potd since it was implemented. This was floor 60-70 and there was a person who literally just went and sat at the gate once conditions were met and not caring if the other people needed the silver chests for their weapons. Many people often make "Can we have dungeons with multiple paths?" and this is exactly why we cannot. Even in content that was designed as a answer to multiple paths you still encounter speed runners more often than not who refuse to help clear rooms for even silver chests. So me and the others went and had moments where we nearly died because said person was not helping. If I want to take my time i just make a pre-made FC group for it. It really is the only answer.

yeah, and random partys exists for a reason too. and i don't think the reason is to let the playerbase fight against each other. then PotD would be a pvp zone.

Run fixed if it bothers you. Random, matched parties exist for people who don't break down into a screeching mess when they don't get their way. It ain't SE's fault that players can't get along in pugs. Hasn't been any MMO's fault that pugs can't get along since the olden days.

But if it was a pvp zone that might be pretty rad. See, then I could just clobber with my l33t 99/99 aetherpool when the scrubs are all going "I wanna get boxes you're infringing upon my sub" because the'yre just not as strong! Everyone wins! Except them. They're scrubs. sarcasm

Run fixed. They can run fixed if they've got a problem and are in the minority or can't put up with pugs, either.

But if you're the only one in the party that wants chests, maybe you're the one who should get out and go run fixed.

i'm 99/99 and don't need weapon anymore... but when i run in deep dungeon i will be nice and see if people want silver, easy to take 10 second to ask. more communication and respect with the fellow member of a group.
say run in fixed is not an answer. people need to respect the other with who they run. they aren't alone. if it's a consensus of the group to speed run, i speed run, if people need silver i will get them silver. that is as simple than this...

play in duty means be with 3 other person, you are not alone in the group, communicate with the other for see what they want to do is a minimum, sadly speed runner don't care and rarely ask, it was like this at the 2.0 and we had a debat...

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this ... At beginning of your potd run, tell the party what you are after and if they are willing to do it as well. Whether it be silver chests or speed run's or what ever. If they don't want to do what you do, leave and queue again. Queue's are almost instant most times and leaving on the first floor gives the other group enough time to find a replacement if needed. Just seems like an easier solution in my head. Oh, this is only for duty finder of course, if you set up your own party, then this shouldn't be needed ... I would hope.
