Friendly reminder that the blacklist exists.
Also a friendly reminder that miscommunication may not necessarily be anyone's fault: seems to me that Ama judged this "adversary" far too harshly and abused their vote-kick, as the "spamming" was likely a panicking player desperately calling for help and seemingly receiving nothing but contempt for their troubles.
On a more personal note, I hope I personally never find my way into one of Ama's parties, because I think I'd rather eat the 30 minute penalty and go do something else.
Words to live by.Expecting everybody to play the game the way you do is not a way to foster a pleasant experience for anybody.
There is a patch for that and its called "Make your own party" - specially for PotD thats not to much to ask because it doesnt require four people but any number between one and four. This content was designed to allow flexible parties.
If you chose the comfort that is DF to get smoother runs with more people, you also chose the risk of running into people who'd prefer to play the game in a different, but still legit way. If you are unable to deal with that properly - and from all that I can see Ama and her friends are (getting upset because someone doesnt help you to clean up your own mess? I'm sorry that I'm repeating myself here, but to me this sort of behaviour seems kinda... rude-ish. Maybe I'm sensitive, but it leaves that sour aftertaste that someone is considering themself more important than the rest - seperating from the group, having people waiting for your, so the whole group can progress and then you even go and pull more than you can handle yourself...? Maybe thats just me, but if you leave the group in PotD, I expect you to be able to look after yourself - shouldnt be to difficult, the place can be solo'd after all. If you're constantly making it clear that you wont consider my intrests but are instead banking on me to safe you all the time, I feel used - and I dont like that.)
I would like to see one of her parties live by now, tbh - just to be able to evaluate whos the real "toxic" person in question. We're always only hearing on side of the story - I'd like to see the whole picture by now. Different datacenter for me, will never happen, but still... as I just described the whole "help"-macro-thing can come off two ways: Ama chooses to picture it as the poor damsel in distress thats left to die - while for me it seems more and more like someone getting upset about other people not obeying them and using randoms in DF to their personal advantge - but maybe I'm a bit to extreme here now... still... would like to see that in action and judge for myself...

Hilarious posts aside, I saw a neat little survey, so I'mma go take that.
Part I
-How many times do you do PotD (Floors 51+) in a week and how many floor brackets do you do?
Incinsistent; usually once or twice a week, and usually just one bracket if I do. unless my friends wanna run 101+, then we'll knock like 60 floors of that out at once.
I'm at 99/99 aetherpool and got all the loot from potsherds, so I don't really need to go back unless it's for EXP.
-Following the above question, how many people do openly speak up about wanting to speedrun and if so, which floor brackets do you most encounter them in?
People don't usually speak up at all, but it tends to be implied heavily on 51-60 and then less so as you move further on. Some folks will just sit on the cairn of passage without saying a word.
-By that same note, how many people do openly speak up about wanting silver chests and/or explore all rooms and if so, which floor brackets do you most encounter them in?
Pretty much no one. If they do, I make an effort to check for chests. No one explores all rooms. If this happens at all, it's generally on floors lower than 50.
-From a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being extremely satisfied and 1 being extremely unsatisfied, how would you rate your overall weekly completions of floor brackets:
Since I tend to do wither 51-60, or shotgun the whole thing, I can't really give an assessment of each set. But I don't have any problems with deep dungeon runs with pugs 90% of the time. I'd say 4 is accurate.
Part II
-When no one speaks up, list your main preferred or habitual style of PotD play
*Mixed speedrun, killing only what needs to be killed but pick chests if they're in the same room
This is my default. And probably what I'll still do regardless, unless the majority of the group is vehement as to otherwise.
-When someone requests any of the above playstyles, do you comply:
-Every time?
-Sometimes?
-Almost never?
-At a whim?
-If the majority also agrees?
-If the majority does not agree?
Usually. It's if the majority agrees, but also if the request is polite and well-articulated. If they call me toxic for not adhering to their whims for instance, they can get the hell out.
-Do you request a preferred style in PotD? If so, how many times a week?
Nah, I usually just go with the flow.
-By that same note, how many times does at least one party member complies with your request in a week?
I generally don't have any, so every time?
-Have you ever wanted to kick someone because they did not comply?
Yes, but generally only when their attitude becomes unsavory as well.
-Have you ever actually kicked someone because they did not comply?
Hell yeah.
Part III
-Do you have a pet peeve in PoTD, aside from what might have been mentioned in the previous parts of the questionnaire? If so, how do you deal with it?
I really wish people would stop pulling mobs off of me when I'm rolling melee. I know, tanks gonna tank, and people wanna focus fire, but if it's just one mob and I'm playing a punchman, just let me handle it. I got it, dude. Hell, I got it for up to like 3 mobs. Unless, y'know, there's nothing else to hit or what have you. Small maps happen.
-If you could improve PotD in anyway, pls check the following (multiple answers eligible)
*Exp increase
*Exp decrease
*Monster increase
*Monster decrease
*Increased silver chests
*Decreased silver chests
*Increased aethergear gain rate
*Decreased aethergear gain rate
*Easier progression
*Harder progression
*Other (pls explain)
I am all for more mobs as to rejoice in the glory of combat, but in terms of progression, I feel like aetherpool is more of a tax than anything, since it's required for 51+ in certain amounts and influences damage taken and done more than I'd like.
If I wanna keep running 101+, I don't really have a chance to grab kinna weapons,
for instance. EXP is fine, it's still best in the game. Progression is fine, if I can do 101+ I can handle 51-100 easy peesy. I'd like to see more special encounters, though, like the dead NPCs and stuff. Those are fun, but just too rare.
...Maybe let me exchange potsherds for crystal sand. That'd be nice.
Kicking someone for telling you the name of an ability when you don't know how to play your class seems pretty rude, honestly.
Either way, matched groups don't exist to carry you. If you want to wander off on your own and waste everyone's time, don't blame them when you're in over your head.
--------------------------------------------
Part I
-How many times do you do PotD (Floors 51+) in a week and how many floor brackets do yo do?
I don't know. Probably 10 sets or more a week when I'm doing them. I'll probably do 12 sets of floors today and then I'll be done leveling characters, so I'll stop doing PotD until RDM and SAM are a thing.
-Following the above question, how many people do openly speak up about wanting to speedrun and if so, which floor brackets do you most encounter them in?
I think only one person has ever explicitly asked for one.
-By that same note, how many people do openly speak up about wanting silver chests and/or explore all rooms and if so, which floor brackets do you most encounter them in?
A few, but usually people just take whatever is conveniently located.
-From a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being extremely satisfied and 1 being extremely unsatisfied, how would you rate your overall weekly completions of floor brackets:
A) 51-60
3
B) 61-70
3
C) 71-80
3
D) 81-90
3
E) 91-100
2
Part II
-When no one speaks up, list your main preferred or habitual style of PotD play
*Pure speedrun, kill only what needs to be killed to get passage open, no chests
Realistically I'll grab some chests, if I feel like it, but I don't even necessarily grab every chest on my way and I outright refuse to touch silvers.
-When someone requests any of the above playstyles, do you comply:
-Sometimes?
It's a matched group, so I do what I want and they can do whatever they want. I may not be thrilled about it, but whatever. I was more helpful before I had run PotD like 150 times and got bored of it.
-Do you request a preferred style in PotD? If so, how many times a week?
No.
-By that same note, how many times does at least one party member complies with your request in a week?
N/A
-Have you ever wanted to kick someone because they did not comply?
Yes.
-Have you ever actually kicked someone because they did not comply?
No, I've only kicked people for being obnoxious.
Part III
-Do you have a pet peeve in PoTD, aside from what might have been mentioned in the previous parts of the questionnaire? If so, how do you deal with it?
People who seem to think we can level past 60. At least I assume that's what they think, given that they constantly pull 600 more mobs than we need. I just complain about them to my friend in Skype and typically do nothing to help them.
-If you could improve PotD in anyway, pls check the following (multiple answers eligible)
*Exp increase
*Monster decrease
*Increased aethergear gain rate
*Easier progression
*Harder progression
PotD is boring and I only care about the rewards when in matched groups, so naturally anything that lowers the amount of effort or increases the rewards is good with me.

Solution: Either run a fixed party or solo.
