Has anyone used an external hard drive to transfer this on PS4?

I'm getting a PS4 Pro soon and I really don't want to deal with this games broken launcher trying to download it again. When i upgraded my hard drive it took 5 days of fighting through errors just to get this thing back again so I was wondering if its possible to transfer this to an external hard drive then copy it back onto the pro without having to deal with that launcher and its non stop errors.

My brother's fiance got a PS4 Pro and used the utility that was built into the PS4/PS4 Pro to transfers her stuff over. She told me she did not have to reinstall FF14. So, check out the transfer utility to copy everything over.

As for replacing the HDD like you did, because you at the time would not have had both systems running, you could not do this. But, since you can have the PS4 and the PS4 Pro on at the same time and connected to the same network, this should work.

I've done it with upgraded my PS4 HDD. I used the utility to transfer everything to the external HD and then transfer it all back to the new HDD. It took a lot of time to do it all, but it worked ok.

I just transfered all my files from the old ps4 to pro through lan cable, faster and easier.

option 1: transfer the hdd files direct from the PS4 to PS4 Pro
option 2: do a backup of your PS4 to an extern HDD and then copy the backup to the PS4 Pro
