Enkidoh has a point, but who better to master such an abominable art than the Warrior of Light?
Of course s/he should have a master and all, but they could learn the ways of the necromancer together, just like the SMN storyline...

Want a heal? How much money you got?
Exactly my thoughts. Just about everything she stated could actually be how the job is introduced. The MSQ itself does not acknowledge the WoL as any particular job. However, most if not all class/job quest I've done involves your character overcoming the challenges that comes with their discipline.
The lore with white magic also talks about it being a forbidden discipline, with only certain individuals allowed to practice it. And even though there are WHMs everywhere you look when playing the game; to the game, you are one of very few WHMs in the realm if you play this job. Also, (2.5 - 3.0 spoiler)we see Y'shtola in two instances use forbidden magic, and the magic used to retrieve her from the lifestream, intact by the elder seedseer I would imagine is also one you're not going to find in a common book.
It's not my first choice in a new healer, but I think it could work. It would be interesting to see how necromancy could be used for good. Hmmm, draining the HP of your enemies and giving it to your allies-
