

I would be all for this. It would a nice original take on the job and reintroduce some of the old THM moves.


lol I was hoping for the same thing when I started out. I honestly don't think the hero of light will be allowed to use magics that taint the lifestream (as seen in the whm questline).
However if its a little more edge to your healer story that your looking for I'd recommend going Astralogian. They do an excellent job illustrating that not all healers are good. and some are down right malicious dicks.
No FF game will ever have a properly evil main character. It's simply not in the Square Enix playbook for the franchise. So healers will likely always be sunshine and daisies.


I just thought of this. Necromancy in real life is not about raising the dead, it's about speaking to them and asking for guidance, using bones to tell the future, amongst other things.
Pretty neutral, if creepy to outsiders.
But like all things, it can be corrupted. As we've seen in game. So, I was thinking that the storyline for the necromancer would be along the lines of learning the boundaries of life and death and stopping those who abuse its power. You'd still have a darkness theme, and I'd imagine the teacher wouldn't be all that different from the padjil, being pragmatic about who lives and dies, though probably more blunt.
noooooo necromancer has always involved death not life.
Not to 'resurrect' this 'dead' thread but with the introduction of Shadowbringers, I feel I might be our best chance for a Necromancer job. A lot of the lore could be sidestepped will us as the Warriors of Darkness.

Maybe sort of like scholor it has a summon of a skeleton or ghoul, but instead of healing the summon could dps while the necro focuses on buffs and heals managment. maybe also have one to tank while questing/doing fates solo and another that buffs party members as well?
Amazing idea. Sucks that all current healers are so light-hearted.

if a necromancer were to be added to healers, theirs a WoW healer class that I think they could borrow game mechanics from (forgot its name though, if anyone would like to name it if it rings a bell please say it)
I recall hearing about a class in Wow that heals by throwing some kind of status effect on an ally, and while the ally is in range, all damage the healer does will also factor into healing the ally
similarly they could perhaps be able to throw a defuff on an enemy that causes allies to heal from attacking it
If Necromancer were to be added it could be some kind of unorthodox healer with power full but simple dps rotations
Just putting my 2 cents in this coin operated opinion machine
