Wasn't that the purpose of stalls?(not sayin it worked) Or do you mean specifically in the search menu?

in the search menus
All I see is hurr.
I don't see a huge benefit to that because people will always go for the cheapest thing. It would work if we could sell things in groups. Like a full armor set and it gave a description if it had materia on it or something. Label it "Def/Hp Tanking Full Set".
If we can trade and mail multiple items at once I don't see why we shouldn't be able to buy them.

I like the idea for wish list, but think the shopping cart could be tricky as thinks could sell whilst you are pottering around the search interface.
I am still unclear how the price history works (maybe someone can clear this up), is this available to look at from your own retainers interface or do I still have to go to the search menu to check prices ?
If its the later I hope they plan to allow us to check prices from out retainers as this is the most time consuming thing for me right now.

this will never work. here is why:
how will they control the movement of items if multiple people have the same item in their shopping cart?
answer:
they wont.
if they do decide to lock that item out after a person selects it and keep it locked until they purchase or exit, then we would have people being douchbags and locking out their competitors items out and then go afk so the only items available for purchase are their own.
I thought this nicely covered any issues with a shopping cart...
If you're worried someone else might take the last one, then buy it immediately. Shopping carts are for the leisurely shopper, not the impulsive buyer. That's assuming that just the act of placing an item in your shopping cart would lock it out.
If I were designing the system, I wouldn't have the item tied up just because it is sitting in a shopping cart. Only when I click on the purchase button would the system verify that everything was available and nothing had changed.
If something had changed, e.g. an item was no longer available or a price had changed, it would return the player to the shopping cart and highlight the changes, asking the player if they still want to proceed with the transaction.

great idea i hope they decide to put this in would be real easy to get everything you want and save time wrting it down on paper and doing the maths ur self.
