question about reddit ffxiv state of game

Wow what's with the reddit hate on here? I honestly find reddit better than the official forums. Just don't take everything on reddit as fact the same way you would on the official forums if someone made a thread saying something that isn't confirmed.

When I had to deal with SE support over my double charge issue, a vast majority of the Reddit community said it was my fault for the double charge, yes my fault for a system error on either Mogstation or my bank. The Reddit community went as far to say that I wouldn't likely get my account back for asking for a reversal, and that I was a horrible customer to do that to SEs bottom line. I proved the Reddit community wrong, I got my account back, and even just added a 4th retainer to my sub. I don't hate the Reddit community for their ignorance as that can't be helped, I dislike it for their belief that they're always correct and the blind white knighting of SE. Granted the official forum has white knights, nothing on here compared to idiocy I read that day on reddit.

That is why i refrain from posting there a lot. They abuse the down vote button and anyone who does not hive mind will get down voted into oblivion. Example, Someone posted that they weren't happy with some feature added, and contributed to the discussion nicely but got down voted lol.

While reddit does post nice info now and then, I still prefer to post here...at least you can't get hated on for having a different opinion ^^

Also I remember your post on there...felt bad for how they were attacking you :/ glad you got your account back ^^

One big difference is this forum can be used only by people that have subbed the game.

Ok so if you were on this forum for the last few days and believed everything you read, would you get a good impression of the game? You would think most of the people subbed to this game are trolls, who hates man cats lol.

Didn't argue about quality of posts. Just answered to one, pointing a objective difference between forums. If the difference matters or not, not the point of my post.

Do not read me wrong, to me a good post is good wherever it is being posted.

Thank you that means a lot, once I was able to get ahold of someone reasonable at CS it made the situation a million times more easy, seems there was confusion on their part and my banks part. But it's over and here I am still playing and handing over more even money to SE lol.

Sub numbers are fine, even at this stage in the content cycle I still have queue onto Cerberus sometimes. I know it's not exactly a small server, but still, back in the 2.X cycle I never had to queue outside of patch weeks.
I'd personally be a bit surprised if we're not hovering somewhere around the half a million subs mark.

Hey man... Persona 5 is a really freaking long game. We'll be back once the harem is complete.

That, my friend, is what your retainers, squadron members, and Alts are for.

Which eliminates the majority of people who deliberately post crap, anger, hate and negativity towards the game, it's developers and players alike. I've been on several subReddits and found that at least a 10% of active posters are there solely to troll the group, or start drama, and don't in fact play, or like the game in question.

...Yeah, that's kind of one of the things I noticed too. It's a problem with the whole site but really emphasized on the FFXIV unit. And, there have been slow times between patch cycles where very few new threads manage a score above 0 (bonus points if they then complain about the amount of fanart there)...

My opinion is that, there a lot more games now to be played than when Arr was launched.
Most of the ps4 users have a lot of exclusive games so i imagine many of them cancel their sub and will comeback with the new expansion.
I would imagine this will happen again when games like destiny 2 gets launched.
MMORPG games are prone to this.

Wow what's with the reddit hate on here?

In 1996 I made a better looking website on Angelfire using a small guide out of a GamePro magazine for HTML and random images I found on the net.

If they could get a proper webdesigner for formatting, I may consider using it. But it looks like a convoluted bit of trash. This goes for all of Reddit, not just the FFXIV one.

Can't stand the upvote/downvote trends on r/ffxiv. Generic screenshot with /gpose run through a few elementary Photoshop filters to improve textures? 1k upvotes. Question or concern about PvP? Hovers on the fifth page around -15. Like healers who obsess over DPS or other forms of trash-talking "bads"? To the top you go! Make a post about features that you think another MMO (ESPECIALLY World of Warcraft) does better? Might as well make a new account to purge all that negative karma.

If I were willing to be a bit more duplicitous I could easily karma farm the crap out of that sub, they're that predictable. At least on this forum your stuff doesn't pretty much get deleted from general view just for being unpopular or controversial.
