Today during trail roulette I got into Nidhogg with four new players. Immediately the two healers (which were obvious a couple due to same last name) groaned in chat about the new players, which I suppose is fine you can complain if you want to, but still rude.

Anyway, I started the encounter and it wasn't going great, but we managed to get to the final phase until the stacking mechanic came up. A newer player ran away from everyone else (which is understandable), because they probably thought it was going to kill the raid, well it ended up wiping the raid, so I thought okay I'm going to explain that mechanic and we'll try again.

But... no the healer couple just wouldn't have it. They hazed a poor sprout for dying like 5 times during the encounter. They called people trash, said they should know how to avoid graphics by level 60.

I was patient with them nonetheless and asked them to please calm down and be nice to the new people. Instead they responded by sitting there characters down and demanding we abandon duty. I pleaded with them to please be considerate to the rest of the group, but they wouldn't listen. Eventually we had to kick them and I reported both of them after the duty.

Anyway, I feel that mentors are supposed to be good for the community, not scare people away from it. Why would SE give mean spirited people the opportunity to troll the community instead of lead it?
