    Am I worrying too much?

Hi everyone. I'm normally a healer but like to dabble in dps. Which is super fun but I sometimes feel like I'm not contributing to my team. I have the reccommended gear level on dungeons but I see other dps doing way more damage than me and I can't help but feel like I'm being rather bad.

    Am I worrying too much?

Well, it depends! It's hard to tell whether you're worrying too much or whether you're worrying for good reason, because we forum goes have absolutely no clue what you're doing, so naturally nobody here can tell whether you're doing it right or wrong.

Perhaps if you'd state your DPS job, level and rotation people could help. As it stands, it's really just guesswork.

I am not sure if you are doing it right, you might of just said it wrong.

3 or more you do Fire III > fire II >fire II (if this is first round you get more in) >flare , convert >flare > transpose> fast tic, fire III, slow one, thunder I/ thundercloud when able. (cast BIII or sharpcast thunder/ thundercloud something else while a good tank is pulling to start things off)
On 2 targets it is the fire IV normal single but end in flare.

Also if you know you get Enochian ready again by boss or whatever, use it for AoE, it is a damage boost, but if you have 3 or more, forget about keeping it up. So if you are on last pack before boss and Enochian just came up on recast, just save for boss. If you know you are more then a min away from boss, use it as a damage boost for aoe, but dont B IV after the transpose, just do aoe as normal and let it drop on 3 or more.

BLM is by far the least obvious job for rotation; best to look up a guide.

    Right on this forum: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...A-Guide-to-DPS

Im just gonna up this topic but if you're worrying about your dps rotation because you find yourself kinda low, then you have the good mind set.

Master a job, especially a dps, takes time and efforts, i wish a lot more people would be like you and say "hey my dps is super low, i need to fix something !"

BLM ain't that difficult to master but as i said, takes time and efforts to do so.
Look for some guides, try and opener/rotation on dummy and then feel free to see if there is some improvement !

I know there is a huge BLM thread here, so feel free to ask your questions in this one !

The fact that you're at least displaying a desire to improve puts you light years ahead of the true "bads" in the game. I would take a good read-through of the BLM guide on this forum and practice on a dummy until it's second nature. After that, it's about learning the fights and knowing when to do what and where to position yourself to minimize movement.

Love that you are trying to improve Big thumbs up for you!

I recommend that you check rotations and test them on dummy first. Then move to dungeons and see if you can keep it up. Also, see which stats and melds work best for your job.

Chase the GCD like it owes you money. It makes little sense, but logs have shown that the biggest problem people have with their DPS is literally not pressing buttons. I've seen a DRG do something resembling a good rotation, but with a solid 5 seconds in-between skills. It blew my mind.

Guides can help you but practice and practice some more. Every dps job i have ever played i always try various rotations myself and then try to formulate which is the best one.
Also what Ama said you could also cast Freeze as well, certain situations it has been shown to be a dps increase and also i guess sub 60 content it will bind enemies as well. (Aquapolis works great also)

All the best luck to you
