A few friends and I are trying to buy a personal house in 4.0. We are gathering gil(I've been saving since 2.4) and we need to consolidate. We're just afraid if we trade around larger sums of gil we might get banned for looking like RMT. Should this be a concern?

Also is it possible to transfer ownership to a tenant?

Don't worry about the gil transferring, it's not unusual at all for players to trade millions to each other, especially if you're friends/FC members. I'm sure SE do watch money transactions, but if you came into the money legitimately you have nothing to worry about.

But to answer your second question, with the current system, no you cannot transfer a personal house and they haven't mentioned anything about that changing either. To transfer a personal house from one person to another you would need to relinquish (demolish) the house/plot and then the other person would need to buy it again straight at the full price.

Good luck getting the house though. I have had enough to buy a large house for about a year now, and have yet to see a plot open due to how populated our server is (Balmung as well. Hi). And I believe SE stated they are going to allow people to visit and explore the housing area in the expansion, but not actually make buying them available the moment the expansion is launched...which means everyone and their brother will be camping the fuck out of the expansion area the moment they DO allow purchasing land. Which means about 5 minutes after 'open season' everything will be taken up, and the housing crisis will start again.

During a previous open season, we put all the money in our FC chest. We had 5 members of the FC leadership all primed and ready for access.
We all attempted to login the second that button turned green. We got lucky one of us did. It took me and two others approximately 20 minutes to login and our 5th, took another 15 minutes after that.
Before I had logged in, all housing was sold out.

My point here, put the money in the chest, so any member of your inner-circle can get it buy the house because you will not be able to predict who will be able to login.

SE, fortunately, edges on the side of caution instead of just banhammering everything. Which draws its own criticisms but you should be pretty safe. Like the person above said said... FC chest is the best endrun around the in person trade limit, whether you leave the money in there or not (but guarding against login difficulties is a good idea).

Just be sure you absolutely trust everyone with access to that gil and remember to turn off that access afterwards as needed. SE will not do anything if one of the people you give access to just up and takes the gil or anything else in the chest you give them access to.

OP said a personal house to share but i would also recommend creating a fc and then buying a fc house as well.. not only would everyone involved have access to the collective gil but this would allow all involved to have their own personal room...
