Skyrim is awesome, i chuckled at the comment about "if you don't look past the problems, it isn't a good game"... That could be said for a lot titles, especially FF14. AS for my time in FF14 it is pretty wavering atm, i have had my fill of SE delays/carrots on a stick for now. Perhaps once 2.0 hits i will be back. I really i hope i don't hear any more please be patient type comments. It has been over a year, that retort doesn't fly.

I hate the fact that all old players care about is the dungeons and that's why we're not getting any variety in the content.

Remember how in XI people weren't even talking about "raids" and a lot of the content was just as valuable for different reasons. (not chocobo racing though that thing blows in every FF game where they think full speed or standing position equals racing controls).

Raids are doable only in few servers at the moment and most importantly the whole game feels dead if you're not in that one spot where people are grinding this dungeon.

Now that I think about it that just sounds like abyssea...

it's not all the older players think about. it's all the old players have left to do. my server is dead and all i have been doing is going around and gathering mats in hopes they will come back after the patch. the problem is they will come in for a few weeks then leave again as soon as moogle is completed.

This is the main issue. The game isn't enjoyable so people just get tired of it too fast. It became, pretty much, an one-time game...once you quit you never will really come back again...you might try it again a few times but it will never last more than a few weeks.

Combination of things, since it happened with all MMOs:

Finals
Other offline games (and yes Skyrim isn't that great when you actually analyze it and not look past its problems)
Waiting for 1.20 to drop (lots of people return on patch days and if its good a lot more stay)
So on.

But it does seem server specific regardless.

I have to totally disagree with you on the Skyrim comment. Theres a reason its in the running for game of the year. Not saying that everyone has to like it, but making a comment like the one you did when there is clearly evidence to the contrary from the 3 million or so people that bought the game is silly. ANd as far as this game goes, there doesn't appear to me to be anything in 1.20 that makes me go "WOW, I am totally coming back for this patch!" I mean, sure the market fixes and player search is great but its all stuff that should have been in the game a long time ago. The fact is, even though the market improvements and player search enhance the game, there isn't any influx of new content that you need to use it for. The economy will still be broken, and most everyone will still have multiple jobs at 50 they don't need to search for parties with. All of it just seems like its too little too late.

I can't even bring myself to express how dissapointed I am in their desicion to use a flippin moogle as the next primal fight. Weak sauce all the way around SE. I haven't even tried the beta for TOR but just from looking around on these forums at comments made by current players, if its even 10 percent better at launch than XIV was, the servers are only gonna get emptier. I honestly can't bring myself to come back to this until I see a level cap increase and some serious new content. Until then this game is just spinning its wheels.

I hope you don't get me wrong here , I have always wanted the best for this game but the longer I sit around waiting for it to get better, (and it seems like thats all we do), the dumber I feel for falling for the "no, no baby, I promise I won't do it again" routine that SE keeps dishing out.

Thing about Skyrim is that west and east gamers/reviewers have given this game like 10/10 and trust me it's no hype. The game has a lot of annoying bugs especially on PC, but its more a testament to how amazing it is that everyone that reviewed the game still gave it such high marks for how buggy it is.

The first Western game to get a 40/40 from Famitsu, IIRC.
