    Aetherites are not placed by players, they areplaced by the devs who have for sure long thought about where to place the Aetherites and why (near settlements or friendly beastmen daily camps and not in strongholds, as an example).
    Having 2 next to eachother in sea of clouds who one is also near the exit of the foundation, meaning it does not take long to get there from the foundation to one of the Aetherite points does not sound like thinking hard to me. At that point looks random and "hope it works"

    No I gathering what I need or what I feel is selling the best, as for the fates again that not a travel problem that a ton of people are beating on the same fate making them last shorter amount of time.

    Traveling time has nothing to do with your lack of attention as to what spawns when and what seems feasible and what doesn't.

    It's not a fault of the system that FATE x had 5s left when you decided to travel to it, which would take 30s, instead of going to a FATE that had just spawned with 15m left.

    It's not a fault of the system that hunts are out in the open, and that people like to pull before you get there.

    It's not a fault of the system that nodes spawn at SPECIFIC hours of the day, giving you the time PRIOR to that node spawning to make your way there.

    First world problems, is what this thread adds up to.

    I'd have welcomed an Aetheryte outside Idyllshire (that little goblin outpost perhaps?). Doing a scrip run I found it was just possible to get from the Adamanitite ore in Azys to the Morels in Dravanian Hinterlands, if you got the Adamantite as soon as it popped and went to Anyx as opposed to trying to go through Idyllshire. Even then it needed a bit of luck; I got sick of nodes slamming shut in my face just as I got to them in both Dravania and Sea of Clouds.

    So, if the Devs are going to continue with only having timed-nodes up for 55 Eorzean minutes, placing Aetherytes to allow people to bypass areas where lots of players congregate would not be a bad idea, nor would spreading them more evenly across an area to enable access to timed nodes.
    Personally, I'd prefer a return to the more relaxed gathering we had in ARR, with timed nodes up for 3 hours so you could actually run to them instead of being forced to teleport everywhere, but that's another discussion.

    yeah exactly, I do not know why took someone this long with some sense to comment on the gathering issues. Oh yeah that is another thing, why is it 55 mins or so and not 1 hr? it feels like it is bugged and they feel like depopping sooner then they should

    There is nothing wrong with gathering, it just people being bad with time management and/or not knowing what they want/need. As another person in the thread said.
