Training a Chocobo

Now that we can stable and train our chocobos, is there an upper limit to how much you can raise a certain attribute? Or can I just feed my companion tantalplants all my life?

You're misunderstanding the way those vegetables work. They can be used to temporarily increase a chocobos stats while it is summoned.
The reason you can feed it to your chocobo while it is stabled, is so you can make it their favourite food, which increases the power of the buff when you give it to them in the field.

Oh, I see. So there are no permanent buffs to a chocobo's attributes beyond using SP. Thank you!
