Dude, for you, what is a good dps? What is your definition of a good dps?

I mean, okay, you don't like it, but the game proposes 3 dps and you just say you don't like it because: one is bad because of tanks (that a non-sense, if the tank is bad or the mechanics needs to make the mob moves, it's not the job's fault, btw you don't always need to move in DRG, just for 3-4 moves), the second because Greased Lightning... The first goal of the MNK: keep the ability always up and get the reflex to unleash a big attack when you know you'll lose it... How can you say it's a bad thing? You need to learn very well the job AND fights to know HOW to play it well... and the last one because... nothing, you just don't like it because.

Maybe you should play something else, maybe you're here because your mates said you're bad, but please, even if you don't like those jobs, don't say they are bad, because they aren't.

First and foremost I find your way of presenting things a bit, how to say it ... arrogant ?

It's your right to have an opinion but the least you could have done is to try those jobs at level 60 since most of them changed a lot. Dragoon has Blood of the dragon which makes the job feel really different and Monk got some great QoL skills that makes it a lot more enjoyable to play. Also ninja got aggro management skills and a few oGCDS, which indeed didn't change the core of the job.

I highly suggest to at least check out how those play in a raid environnement in order to have a clear view on how they play in the hands of good players. Claiming "this is bad and I don't like it" relying on outdated information won't get you anywhere.

Also, you can expect changes to those jobs in the upcoming expansion, we have little information as for now but we can expect more later this month.

If you play any class long enough you'll find a problem with it.

It's understandable you might have issues with jobs in this game, but I don't think you'll be satisfied with the new jobs. Looks like DPS jobs aren't for you, that's okay. I only enjoy SMN personally for my own reasons, not big on the rest (still need to play with MCH)

So you're probably better off staying as Warrior, or maybe the way they do the tanks may have you switching to another one. Good Luck Warrior of Light!

This itself is pretty unreasonable. You really expect everyone to put in 10s of hours to level and gear up a job for raiding, and to find a group that's OK with "I'm just trying this out, I don't really like it but someone says I might like it in raid" before they can say they don't like a job?

To use earlier analogies... this is more than "never driven a camaro". This is "Shut up unless you're a 10 year veteran mechanic of camaros". PotD is the best pragmatically accessible preview of a job. And, you know, most games you don't need to experience peak endgame... which like the name says, is at the end of the game... to start having fun.

Kind of reminds me of that old FFXII defense. "It's fun once you're 20 hours in." Well, why should I play the first 20 hours then?

I think I didn't express myself clearly, of course I agree with your statement here, what I meant is that he should at least see how the jobs plays out when used at full potential and at max level, and I by "see" I mean litterally.

Wether a friend shows him or just watch videos, guides or whatever fits (the raid scenario was to ensure a minimum in player skill).

PotD really depends on the will of the player, I personnaly use it to learn the basics of a job at max level, but always with a guide at hand so I can use all my skills efficiently, but I'm under the impression that most people just want the xp and don't use this opportunity to actually learn the job properly, but that's another topic.

To continue with your camaro example, my point of view would be more like "Okay you've never driven a Camaro, how about you ask people who did and do regularly so you can have a good view on what it has to offer ?"

All the OP had to do was say that level 50 DPS play was boring/easy. I would actually somewhat agree and accept this opinion. But ask anyone reasonable, and giving an opinion you have yet to experience is for the most part, completely invalid.

The only thing you can take from his opinion is that he "believes" it will be boring and easy once you get to 60. How he said it was just worded wrong.

In which case I would for sure say that you should try to get at least a melee and ranged DPS to 60 and see how you like it.
If you still don't like them, then perhaps you should try other games with more complex fighting. Although with Stormblood around the corner, it may be good to stick around regardless.
But don't forget that even once it hits your level 50s aren't going to notice much of a difference until you level them up. Lol

Op could have said "i have no interest in ranged classes, they don't fit my personal playstyle. I'm also not a fan of directional attacks so I'm finding it hard to enjoy DPS classes"... this would have been a perfectly valid argument. Saying something is boring but never having tried it or trying something you think is similar somewhere else is absurd. It's akin to saying you wont like vanilla ice cream because
It's white and round and reminds you of cauliflower, which you hate...

The forums never cease to amaze me with how salty an uninformed people are. I get you are frustrated and ranting, but dude. You' re just making lazy excuses and claims based off of incorrect and outdated information. It's like me saying the Chicago Cubs suck at baseball because they haven't won a world series.
