    this is also another reason that dps is just not fun to play. Positional skills are not inherently difficult but a lot of tanks out there make them very tedious and unrewarding work. I mean I get that annoyed over losing a trick attack. But it's like that all the time as a DRG. So by the time I'm done with a dungeon as DRG I am just over the job again.

    I kind of agree that dps classes are boring. Ive maxed dragoon lost my interest in it. I personally feel like it has too much clutter in its unchanging (except the 4ths of course)rotation. If they simplified it a bit and made mechanics more difficult i think id fall in love with it all over again. Once you know your rotation you mindlessly repeat it for the rest of your days except the rare occasions where you do things like goading your buddy or pop out a swiftcasted raise as a smn. That is one reason why I enjoy tanking and healing. Rotations and trash pulls with lots of health put me to sleep. Yoshida once said he wanted to put more focus into mechanics and less focus on rotations. I hope that comes with Stormblood.

    I would recommend you play warrior and see how you like it. 3 basic rotations, dps-enmity/slashing debuff/hp leech. Then you spend stacks of adrenaline(basically) to do special moves and you get to fight face to face with the boss.....EDIT: ah.. lol youre a war I should have looked.

    The problem with your thread is that you talking about something that you don't know really (not played a class to 60 and how much has changed look at SMN and BARD)

    I don't care how long have you been playing games how long you been raiding or how "pro" you believed to be because that's not the point and no one cares.

    Your issue in here is very simple and I'll give you an example:

    "I think tanking is boring cause I just press one thing all the time and I hate it... But I haven't tried it"

    Literally I have no right to criticize something that I haven't done or tried. But you feel it's ok?

    If this thread popped up 2 years ago I will honestly understand you cause you have MAXED out all classes to 50 so you have room to talk but sadly you have no idea of what you talking about now.

    it's not like they flip the game upside down on you and change it every couple of years. what was here at level 50 is still here now and what level 60 is built around. I am level 58 NIN right now and god is it boring

    you can never go full speed because of lazy prima donna tanks who will lose their shit and start acting like little bitches if you pull off them because they don't know how to hit AD/OP/Flash or manage their resources to do so, they are always turning everything everywhere so it's not even fun to try to do your best dps because of how fast DR on stuns run out since everyone has them in their rotation.

    All DPS feel the same, period. It is Rotation A in to rotation B in to Rotation C and back to A again, ad nausea. This is just on bosses too, who actually stand still for you to do those positionals. Don't even bother with trash pulls, just spam your classes best AoE, and try to keep awake while doing it.

    well than its another problem you are talking about... its not that cls are not varity enough in their playstyles but people who actually can't play them in full potential. Lately especially tanks suck hard cause of all the scrubs coming out of potd which never learend anything about their cls and toolkits. anyways talking about cls design although you don't even have a single dd cls on 60 is even more a joke... and Mature is right:

    Hate all you want, OP has a point. Not defending his trollish way of making it, however, but the fact remains he has a point. All DPS feel the same, period. I mean, sure, bard has fucking 'sweet ass sidewinderdps yo!' but you only be dropping it on bosses, and the occasional trash mob, when an AoE attack isn't proced.

    So...yea...when that 'wicked sick super fly 18,000 sidewinder of death' only matters for 33.3% of the dungeon/raid? (I.E on bosses) and the rest of the time you are bored to fucking tears? Yea...I'd say OP has a point.

    Or Final fantasy has always been the same for decades but with new story line new spells new characters.... Realistically nothing has changed for years the only change that we had with XII gameplay wise. But apart from that it's always the same so I'm struggling to get your point

    What He is trying to say is that all classes are the same from 50-60... He has no idea what he is talking about at all without trying it hence my street fighter example

    I agree. I would even go so far as to say that all fighter games like this are boring and monotonous. You have your zone fighter, you body fighter, and so on. They all look fancy, but in the end, it's the same damn song and dance. But FFXIV takes it a step further, and not only makes it the same old song and dance, but makes it almost nearly the exact same, for every class. Hate all you want, but Bard and Machinist are perfect examples of this. Before you start in on the whole how they are different thing, let me concede that there are a few subtle nuances that you have to use in order to eek out the best for each build...but they ARE the same.

    Same moves. Same abilities. Same tactics. It's literally Bard 1.0 vs Bard 2.0. Clearly no effort to make them different.

    I'm not defending the OP for claiming something he hasn't tried out, he doesn't have a foot to stand on there, other than he has made this assumption based on the information he has gathered, and - whether you believe it correct or not - sticks by that assumption. It's the exact same reason you are going to disagree with me for Bard 1.0 and Bard 2.0. You will argue so damn hard on how they are NOT the same, because you believe, based on facts and evidence that you have found, they aren't. More power too you.

    The point still stands however, there is very little, to no deviation between the dps available. Stand on X side for y potency. Use x ability to apply y debuff. Use generic AoE to apply damage to everything. Other games may fall in to this at it's core..but at least they have diverse skill trees to use to make them at least 'feel' different.

    Edit:

    I will go even further, and say not only does this game make you feel like every class is the same (Cause they are, even tanks and healers. Take the time to look at their verbiage. Dark Knight Grit, and paladin Shield Oath? Did they just copy and paste the text and change a few words? This isn't the only example you'll find, either), but the game actually DISCOURAGES you from being different.

    FFXIV: "Hey did you know you can allocate points to different stats when you level up?"
    You: "No shit? I'm gonna give my White Mage more mana"
    FFXIV: "Yea...don't do that."
    You: "What? Why?"
    FFXIV: "Cause the game kind of needs you to put it in mind."
    You: "Oh...ok. Well..I'll put Strength on my warrior."
    FFXIV: "Yea....again...no."
    You: "You fucking serious?"
    FFXIV: "Well...we give you some extra damage if you take VIT..and it makes you be the tank we want you to be. So...you should probably go VIT"
    You: "Fucking christ...."
    FFXIV: "But at least you can...wait...no...all equipment is the same too. But there is...no wait...abilities are pretty much the same too. Oh, but you can pick cross class abi-....no...you are kind of forced to take the same thing everyone else takes. But your name! Oh god yes, your name can be hella unique in this game! One of a kind! You will stand out SO HARD with your name."

    But you haven't reach level 60 so you really don't know or understand the change or what have changed but you saying is all the same as 50. That's why I gave you the Street Fighter V example the game itself is ALL the me since decades ago but got new extra combos with the SAME combos and actions it had for over the years. It's the same for FFXIV (and dare to say for all FF) HW got the same actions and rotation that ARR had BUT with new rotations and actions.... So it's not really the same

    Hope you understand why I'm trying to say.
