    [Glamour] 1H rods and wands

I was really bummed out today to find out you can't glamour a one-handed THM/BLM weapon onto a 2H one. (I assume it is the same for CNJ/WHM)

Does anyone know it they ever plan to allow this? I understand that there would be difficulties allowing us to glamour off-hands, since we'd be glamouring onto an empty item slot, but 1H wands have all the same animations as staffs - the only difference between staffs and wands (beyond length) is that wands are sheathed at the hip.

This has been asked before, and unfortunately the official 'solution' was to allow for the high-end one handed weapons (mostly Primal stuff) to be traded in for two-handed versions. Which are lovely (the Garuda staff is one of my most used glamours), but I knew some of us would still like the option to use the few shields mages have access to.

I've always wanted to build a glamour around the Leviathan wand and shield. They did figure out a way to let people use multi-slot armors as glamour, so hopefully someday they'll find a way to let us glamour two pieces over one.

I'd suggested (on another of the threads about the same subject) that they handle them the same way they do other multi-slot equipment, where instead of having two different item types "One-handed Thaumaturge Arm" and "Two-handed Thaumaturge Arm", they just make them all "Thaumaturge Arm" (and of course, the corresponding change for Conjurer's Arm). Then they could just add a "cannot equip gear to off-hand slot" attribute to the two handed ones, the same way hooded robes have a "cannot equip gear to head" attribute.

    Pros:
    • We could glamour a one handed wand onto a two handed staff the same way we can glamour a shirt onto a hooded robe.
    • It matches the way other gear is already handled, which should both simplify development and make it easy to understand.
    • Our main hand weapons wouldn't be divided into two separate item categories, but just have one category per class, which would simplify finding the right one in any window that filters by item type (crafting window, for instance).

    Con:
    • Without further changes, it still wouldn't allow glamouring a shield if your actual equip is a two handed staff.
